Alan Hudson wants his FA record deleted.

Alan Hudson was a tremendous player for Chelsea and I do agree that players of flair were often under represented in England squads at that time. However, I don't agree with his analysis of the Grealish situation. What I gleaned from the Euros was that we had a very gelled squad with incredible team spirit, rather like Germany in 2014, that did carry us to a penalty shootout in the final game of the tournament.

I'm also not sure of the FA's responsibility toward Hudson. He was not their employee and whilst it's sad that he is still suffering from the effects of injuries sustained outside of football, albeit through no fault of his own, I'm not sure what they could do to help him without also addressing the problems of every other former player with long term injuries or declining health.

I may be wrong but my first reaction is that he should perhaps address his concerns to CFC.

That's a very odd news story.

I hope he gets the help he needs and that he has good friends/ family around him, as he sounds a bit desperate in those quotes in the article.

Several players were out of favour with Alf Ramsey. When 'Genial Joe' Mercer took over as caretaker manager he picked a 'people's England' side which included Malcolm McDonald, Stan Bowles, Frank Worthington and I thought Hudson, though this could be a false memory.

Feel sorry for the guy, doesnt sound in a good way.

Interesting idea though, I might write to the FA and request they amend their records to show me being capped during Italia 90.

Be carefull Willow, they might say you missed one of the penalties!;)

Strange - seems like ha trying to draw attention to his plight with Thai rather odd request. What the FA remove his records but they are recorded countless other times by countless other websites, books that have already been written and so on.
Agree taht maybe Chelsea could help the fella out. The three year ban seems harsh given players these days will skip a full international friendly let alone under 23s when it suits them.
