Last month, no issues with Stansted but a delay on the return flight. We booked fast track through Holiday Extras as advised on here and we were straight through. No long wait for baggage either.

Our flight was at lunchtime.

I think this is the key - it's not the airport per se, it's the time of the flight

The early morning and mid afternoon flights where they cram as many departures as possible into a 2 hour time slot is the problem - far too many people turning up at the same time than bag drop and security can handle

Went through this morning about 9 am. Took about 25 mins to get through security. Seemed really busy and I could imagine a bit later in the day it would be a fair bit longer.

No security queue at Newcastle this morning, but rammed inside airport.

Three weeks ago.. Got to Stansted at 03:20 for a 06:10 flight. Bag drop was a 50 minute queue to check passport, boarding card and put the ticket on the case. But we then had to go to another section in the airport to queue up for another 20 minutes to deposit our cases onto the belts. Fast track security was well worth £10...I'd strongly advise it as the queue for security was immense.
