Aftershave

My favourite winter scents are Tom Ford - Oud Wood. I also like Tom Ford - Amber Absolut. Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather are great too. I used to like Noir de Noir but you can get clones now that are about 95% as good.

GOAT is the original Enigma Parfum by Roja Dove. Basically amped up cherry cola scent.

I have a bottle of Musk Aoud as well which I use very sparingly. I think I paid about £250 for it whereas now I think 50ml is about £300.

Absolutely love Xerjoff stuff.
I have Woody Oud and Toscano Leather by Maison Alhambra. They must be decent clones as I've been asked if they were Tom Ford, both were under £20.

I used to pass through Boots, Romford, on my way to work each day.

I had all the smells in those days.

My current rotation are Ombre Leather and Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, Green Irish Tweed by Creed and Bal D'Afrique by Byredo

Mrs T buys me aftershave. I rarely wear it so she would use it as an air freshener. One day I came home and she had sprayed the living room. She asked me what I thought of the smell. I said that it smelt like a brothel. Now she is demanding how I know what a brothel smells like. Hence I have taken refuge in the pub again.

I used to use a lot of the a*men spin offs ..
Havane, tonka , malt etc ..
Ignorantly didn't take notice of the ' discontinued ' buzz 🤕

And before that don't ask about the original Gucci pour homme.. ( very square glass brown bottle)

Literally, a problem to wear when in any type of female company ( but as a younger man , I had noooo idea )

Yeah I've always likes the a*men variants

If you liked pure Havane then Xerjoff - Naxos is a good premium upgrade

It's weird one as not everyone gets it, but a significant amount of people do. It's defiantly got a poo smell to me and it's a b***r to scrub off as well, that one went straight in the bin.

Have they addressed it? Or continue to sell it? Takes Eau Du Toilette to another level.

Have you tried any of the Shay & Blue fragrances? I’ve got one called Kingswood at the moment and get a lot of comments on it.

Kouros and Issey Miyake (both back in their days) were 2 that always stopped the ladies in their tracks. Absolute f@nny magnets.
Kouros of old is nothing like kouros today mind. Fragrances go through reformulations as certain ingredients get banned due to a small percentage of people getting reactions, so they need to switch the ingredients up to achieve the same effect. Oakmoss is a famous one that ruined a lot of fragrances that were power houses, e.g anyone who smelled Armani code original formulation would find it very different today. Fahrenheit in the 90s as well with its strong petrol vibe is very different to how it smells now, and JPG - le male is much weaker.

One thing to touch in that many blokes don't realise and it was mentioned earlier in the thread;

If a fragrance is listed as Aftershave, it is usually cheaper than the EDT and will have an open bottle rather than a spray head. It's very small perfume percentage inside and mostly alcohol and is literally just meant for an astringent after a shave, the scent will quickly go away. Many people assume it's just a splash on version and that is why it is cheaper; but it's completely different and will be very weak.

EDT is standard for most men designed fragrances and is stronger

EDP variants used to be the domain of niche fragrances but many designers are coming out with them now too - these are are stronger but it's not just a case of putting more perfume in and less alcohol, the. The notes usually get restructured so as an example Sauvage edt and edp smell very different but share similar dna

Then there are parfum and extrait versions which are very strong

And then you get to Asian style attar oils where you pay hundreds, even thousands for a couple of ml and you literally place a small dab on you and it's extremely strong.
