Aer Lingus plane landing in 50moh winds at Birmingham Airport

An Emirates A380 had to abort and go around at Manchester this morning. That must have been fun.

Landing in a cross wind like that is called crabbing and the larger passenger jets are programmed to do that. Looks dramatic but, apparently not that difficult to do. To be fair the big airlines don't let the pilots do it, the auto pilot lands the plane.
