Aer Lingus flights

Anybody used Aer Lingus flights to USA? Are they a decent airline, used Virgin and United on many visits previously but Aer Lingus comes up with decent prices and good selection of locations and sure I read somewhere that you can actually go through US customs in Dublin prior to the transatlantic flight??

That last bit was certainly the case a few years back when I travelled regularly with them though not to USA.

Give them a try, I found the major airlines pretty similar when doing regular long haul to be honest, travelling economy class anyway. If you can beat the nonsense at the other end it's a bonus.

Used them to go to Chicago in 2016, decent airline and good flight.
Went Leeds - Dublin - Chicago and yes we did our immigration check in Dublin, very straight forward, then collected luggage after landing and left the airport like an American citizen.
Can't imagine its changed - check the airline website.

I did the other year ba out and aerlingus via Dublin back.

No issues but it’s all very green.

This was during covid though so everything was odd

Used them loads travelling from Dublin to Boston with work very good never had a problem, if we had choice we would always go for the Aer Lingus option would recommend them no problem

Yeah they're fine, used them from Manchester a few times, added bonus of clearing US customs in Dublin if you stop there so you land as a domestic flight. Feels very much like Thomas Cook did, no frills but good value.

A guy who I work with is married to a Yank, he swears by Aer Lingus, you have the immigration check in Dublin, then it means him, his partner and kids can all go through the American side without any holdups.

Yeah decent flights and used to be cheaper than others, but they seem to be more expensive at the moment sadly. Make sure you have plenty of time in Dublin to clear immigration, it can be busy (but some days you're through really quickly)
