Advice on travel to Burnley (from Leeds)

Group of 5 lads travelling from Leeds to Burnley on saturday, absolute pain that there's rail strikes. Not currently showing as cancelled on trainline but reckon they'll get cancelled in a few days time. Does anyone know if there any Boro coaches that run from Leeds that we could jump on?

Had a look at buses but looks like we'll have to go via manchester which for a return is a bit pricey. We'd rather not have to designate someone as a driver as would all like to have a good drink but worst case scenario it's what we'll have to do.

There are no northern trains running to Burnley tomorrow, so I'm guessing it will be the same come Saturday.

Are there no local buses to Skipton, then a bus to Burnley from there? Or to Colne then Burnley (Bit of a faff on i know)

As much as I hate to recommend it try the Uber app, + if you can get to and from Bradford cheaply and quickly on the local bus network or some other way, then that might knock your prices down quite a bit. If it is successful it could turn into quite a fun/ drunken bar hop day + if not I recommend you stay on the road

Google maps says bus to Keighley then bus from there to Burnley. Nearly 3 hours travelling time though.

Thanks for the recommendations lads. Had a word with the group tonight and if we can do a minibus it will be good. The buses aren't a bad option but prices and travelling time aren't favourable. Will end up getting back into Leeds quite late, was originally hoping to be back in Leeds by train for half 6 and make a night of it (either drown sorrows or celebrate a good result) but no dice with the strikes.

One lad has offered to drive and isn't too bothered about drinking so we'll definitely make it to Turf Moor either way

This actually could work I've just checked. Trains to skipton not on strike tomorrow either so could be a good omen for Saturday.
