Doesn't help unclutter the page though, does it? I'm not a moron, I am well aware I can just not open threads.

But this isn't the old site, I can only see a maximum of 7 thread titles at once on my phone and I'm sick of having to scroll past political threads that I'm almost never going to open just to get to the football threads, especially when it's so easy for the admins to give the option to ignore threads.

I'm having to ignore posters that I've no real issue with, just because they like to post political threads and it's currently the only way to clean up the main page. I've no issue with them them wanting to discuss it, but it's inconvenient for me when browsing the site.

Completely agree, this board is like tuning into a Labour Party Political Broadcast at times.
Why not have a sticky thread for political posts ?
 
Iam the same when I read some of the football related drivel, I tend not to open them now
 
Can we also have stickies for Dads Jokes, Meanwhile In Sweden, Cycling, Anybody Own An Electric Car etc etc. See where I am going here. The whole point of what makes this board good is its diversity so if the thread is not for you just don't read it. Its pretty simple really. We cant start having Stickies for every thing someone doesn't like.

Are you sure its not the settings either on the site or your phone Ben because I see a damn site more than 7 thread titles (on PC ATM and haven't got phone at hand).
 
Some people do use the board as a party political broadcast. Politics has always been the number 2 subject and maybe it is time to have a political sub section.

Jus been a bit pedantic - not really sure about that
I was on the last one from the early days and, for as long as I can remember, we have had a heady mix of music, local stuff, footy, politics squashed rabbits, et al
Not sure footy has ever been a clear no.1

And every so often we get a plea about too much this and not enough that.
As the great Bobby D said ‘you can’t please all the people all the time’

Don't get me wrong, I love the diversity of this board and maybe I am just imagining that the intensity of the political threads has ramped up.

I do think that there are a few threads posted with the sole intention of political baiting in the knowledge that such threads are divisive and ultimately end in a ban.
 
I've no issue with there being political threads or threads unrelated to football, I'm not asking for them to be stopped.

I just want the option to ignore them, which I know is available.

Notice how there's an Ignore button next to the Watch button, which is absent on this forum.
