He knew her age there was no misunderstanding of her age as he had communicated with her for a while, chose to do what he did because...he could, the fame / hero worship youths have for footballers is a worry.
Almost every parent of a teenage girl will have heard them say something along the lines of I really love "x" who is in a pop group, footballer etc. Those individuals have to be careful how they interact with their fans.
Allegedly he had some very unsavoury sexual material on his phone / computer, not child related. Why is she with him? being cynical yes the money, and maybe she will become Mrs J and legally secure access to half his pot? I don't know. Personally not someone I want to read about and just sad to think he was an ex boro player.
