For my only visit to Cold Blow Lane when we visited Millwall

20 March, I booked on the coach as the lads I travelled with back then wern't bothering, the coach got there pretty early so I paid a visit to the local for a few beers then off to the match

In the ground the match wasn't going well for us with Millwall going in to a 2 goal lead

Step forward super sub Paul Kerr, wearing the No12 shirt & playing his last ever Boro away game, came on & transformed the Boro from 2 nil down, he scored the 1st (consolation) goal & running the game was instrumental in the equaliser from Tony Mowbray
The game finished 2-2 & a point is good for us to try & prize ourselves away from the foot of the table

Millwall must have liked what they seen as before transfer deadline Millwall bought Paul Kerr off the mighty Boro

I remember it well. I was working in London by then but hadn't yet moved down permanently. I went with a couple of mates from work. We had a couple of pints in the bar at work(!) then took the 'bus down the Old Kent Road. We were stuck in a corner with a floodlight pylon in the middle. I'd given up hope but the substitution changed things and Boro looked more like winning in the end. It was a great atmospheric old ground was the Den.

To be fair, their manager had worked with him before.

Paul Kerr is ( when we were allowed ) often in Yarm as I believe he settled up here . Always has a good natter , a really nice fella and especially when I’d had a few sherbets id always try and buy him a pint because of play offs at Chelsea in 88 👌

I went to this game and another night match 2 years earlier at the old den.
I’m sure the earlier game was in 1st division and we lost 2 0.

No you're correct, not been picky, was it QPR & Forest it was the Swindon game that we scored 6
That was it - 4 at Forest 5 at QPR , then beat Swindon by 6
Felt a bit sorry for him being interviewed on tv after the Swindon game saying he'd hoped 'to get another game under my belt' - he never did play for the 1st team again
I remember Nigel Pearson having a go at him at the QPR game
