I see the BBC have finally allowed the axe to fall on this once great programme and are stopping production after five decades.
I always thought this was a great programme and was a must watch when growing up. My mum was brilliant at answering the questions.
It is the current format that killed the programme, and I was just reading that whilst Sue Barker presented it, viewing figures were regularly between four and five million. Recently they dropped below one million.

Question of Sport has been shelved, BBC confirms
There had been just two series with current host Paddy McGuiness and captains Sam Quek and Ugo Monye.
