A progress report on the new board?

I wonder if it is worth having a bit of a progress report on the status of the new board? Perhaps with it being updated every week or two. Saying things like any bugs fixed, progress on design ( e.g. adverts or site improvements) etc. Also some description of next steps to expect.

Well, one of us is moving house this week and I have got builders in plus got a paper fanzine to do. All in all we will be limited in whar we can do.
We darkened the red hue and made several changed on view on mobiles - after feedback.
Tomorrow or Tuesday - further work on adverts to get them working properly.

But in meantime keep on feeding stuff back.
We like the idea of a compact site for mobiles. But that would be for the future.
So, might not be as much going on this week.

I am really liking this new site. It loads really quickly and I can post straight away on my mobile.
On the old site I used to post then copy it go into another part of the site then back and paste it before it would post on the site. It used to jump a lot too.
Huge improvement and I hope it can cope when everyone moves across.

It already uses a responsive theme for mobiles, not sure what else it would need to do?

It is in response to my comment about the small number of threads that are displayed compared to the old board.

I think its fine as it is. The alerts mean you don't miss anything you have an interest in.

Yes, it’s not an issue really.

One potential issue is the misuse of the board by spamming it with images. My last post showed how it is very easy to derail a thread.

The two images I posted above make the thread confusing on my mobile. I suppose group moderation will be the way to stop posters from causing problems.

I expect some users would be in favour of an option to display thumbnails instead of the full image. Or even no media content.

Sorry, by accident I did not include the fmttmadmin post in mine (as a reference). I have corrected that now by doing a cut and paste of the text from his post into mine. Not perfect. However it shows what I was referring to.

My point was about how it is possible to post large images, multiple times.

And in my example, I posted screenshots of the thread itself which makes it even more confusing when viewed on a mobile.

You’re never going to stop people being excited about posting images. Excessive spamming can be dealt with or indeed offensive content and there’s lots of that around that will inevitably try and find its way on. As long as it’s removed then I see no problem hopefully. I love the mobile look.
