..unfortunately Exeter gave the away attendance at @1030, about 270 short of our allocation, from where I was stood our seats looked about at least a third empty. Considering there was people crying out for tickets on some social media , why the shortfall on the night. I imagine Plymouth will be the really big turnout with 600 more possibly Boro

Interesting. I thought they got that wrong that away support attendance figure. They surely would have taken it from tickets sold (inc any of those that may have been bought for priority points). Two observations

1. Those buying for priority points only would have bought terrace tickets as they were cheaper.

2. I saw no empty seats and was sat in the second block from the end. There were some empty seats to our right but they were left empty for segregation purposes and did notice the seats at the top were reserved for additional press reporters as they all had laptops.

There were definitely empty seats. I counted at least 40-50. I thought maybe some had bought seats but sneaked into the terrace but given the attendance figure quoted maybe not?

That is a possibility the guy who I gave my home seat ticket too walked up to the away end and it scanned on to there, . The standing was definitely packed in the bigger section. Actually I'm going to see if I can stop this thread, maybe there was 1300 there but whatever reason their reporting system is showing 1031.

Where were these empty seats you counted? 40-50 though is certainly not "a third empty"mentioned in the OP. If 100 or so seats were empty then that would still be less than 25% but as I say I didn't really see any empty save for those mentioned in my previous post. There only conceivable explanation for anybody not sitting in the seats was if they were right at the front where it was raining and they didn't fancy sitting and getting wet? The terrace to the left looked comfortable rather than packed as the photo above shows.

Fancy 200 long term season ticket holders i.e hardcore Boro fans buying seat tickets with no intention of going to the game to get 3 priority points, on top of their 180 plus points. For a game at a ground Boro have never played a competitive game at before.

How many tickets for seats were sold?

349 and they were sold out. 960 terrace tickets also sold out so attendance should have been 1309 so you can deduce that no way "200" season ticket holders bought seat tickets and didn't go.

If the allocation was 1300 and they've said 1030, that has typo written all over it.

That was the case Jimmy. My seat was at the very end of the row, and I was getting drenched, so I just walked onto the terrace and stood with the mate that I went with. There was ample room on the terrace, and it was dry there.

AT - Totally agree I was being ironic in my post - 200 missing out of 349 would have left some gap even 50 not turning up I doubt. Some posters are getting slightly paranoiac about fans buying tickets purely for priority points. If someone has over 180 points what advantage is another 3 points?

Yes that makes sense as there did seem to be the majority of the empty seats at the end of the rows closest to the corner. As you say despite what you see on the photos, I thought there was ample room on the terrace - not quite how I remembered the Holgate!
Maybe a typo is the most logical explanation as suggested.
