Does anyone know why each Grand Prix has to have a specific name? Why we had the styrian Grand Prix after the Austrian? Why not just the second British Grand Prix?

I wonder what they will do in Italy? Given they have three grands prix this year. I guess Imola will still be the San Marino Grand Prix but what will they call Mugello?

What is going on with Vettel? Ferrari are struggling for them, for sure, but Leclerc is quite a bit faster than him.

Good to see Norris out qualify Sainz again.

Hell of a lap from Riccardo. Especially as he didn't even bother trying the soft tyres.

Also what a lap from Hulk.

Ok today was definitely formula Mercedes day. The only car within a second of them was, well, the Pink Mercedes!

The irony is if you removed the two mercs it would be One of the most exciting seasons in years.

But as it is it’s now just Lewis of Valteri every week and that can’t be good for any sport.

No idea what’s happened to seb though

Yeah it’s not great for formula 1 at the moment. I wonder if things are amplified because silverstone is a very “Merc” track?
No, you can’t really say that because Hungary would have been a very “red bull” track traditionally. Hopefully the 2022 regs will mix things up.
Ferrari gone quite a bit backwards this year, amplified by Vettel having a stinker, even compared to his team mate

I think Ferrari were prepared to write this season off as they concentrated on 2021 new regs but as that has now been put back till 2022 god knows how bad they’ll be next year as well.

Ah that makes sense. Yeah the years delay is going to kill them. Apparently racing point put all their eggs into developing this years car. What with COVID drivers and everyone hating them, that might not have been wise

Of course it's a sport. It may not be one that you like personally, have any time for or indeed understand for that matter but it is clearly a 'sport'.
If you get some enjoyment out of it thats fine by me.

I do wish they would time it every week just after Sunday Lunch cos the xrrrm zrrm noise gets me off a treat

How about making the drivers run round the first lap on foot before getting in their cars.

Or maybe a Scalextrix style chicane and/or hump back bridge

Maybe a handicap system whereby you have to add 5kg of concrete if you won the last race

Go to do something cos its dying on it's feet

At always amuses me when someone expands so much enjoy decrying formula 1 for not being a sport. Most normal people would ignore the thread . Some strange people take to replying to themselves. Still I bet he thinks he’s funny at least.

Back to the racing:

Be interesting to see what Hulk does in the first few laps. He won’t be there at the end, as his fitness last week proves but the RP is more than capable. His qualy was odd. A couple of mega fast laps and some stinkers. Could mix things up a bit at the start

As someone who has worked in Formula 1 development back in the early 90s I understand a lot more than you think
