7/2 to go down

Although unlikely (or likely - who knows!) we don't get another point

How depressing would it be.... if Wigan have a points deduction and STILL stay up ahead of us, if they win the majority of their games left

So we are third bottom and third bottom in current form.
We are where we are, it is what it is.
If we continue on current form we would get 4 more points. So would 48 be enough when our GD is very poor?

It might be, given the Wigan 12 point deduction which I'm more than happy to take.
Stoke and Charlton would need just 2 points each, Huddersfield 3 and Hull would need 4 points.
Barnsley would need 8 points, Luton 9 or Wigan 10 from their last 5 matches.
I'd be s***ing myself if we go to Wednesday needing a point to stay up. Steve Whitton anybody?

I don't see where points come from at the moment.

Yeah we're terrible at the moment but I don't see us losing the next 5 on the bounce, not now we have Warnock. Barnsley are rubbish, Luton are rubbish, Wigan are a bit better than us and in much better form but could easily lose motivation after what's gone on (signs were bad on Saturday for them).

I think we'll be ok. Sad for Wigan of course, but we can't influence that. Plus they have their rugby league team to keep their residents' spirits up, its definitely more of a rugby league town.

Not picking up 3 points vs Hull has killed us. That 1 result in this last 8 game Mini-season is the one that will cost us. IF we had won there we’d be on 47, they’d be on 42, with Barnsley and Luton on 41 & 40. They all play each other in upcoming games, and 2 of them play Wigan who will want the points to offset the 12, meaning we’d probably be in need of 1 or 2 points at most from 5 games currently. However, we spinelessly got beat and are now deep in the kak. I can’t see where we get anything from in all honesty in our remaining games (sorry to be a misery, so disillusioned by the stupidity and predictability of the whole Woodgate debacle. How could Gibbo be so careless with the club he and we all love? I’ll never ever understand that decision as long as I live)

You're definitely right about Hull, but it still means that probably 5 more points sees us completely safe. I do think we're capable of that with Warnock in charge (despite losing the last 2).

You're definitely more optimistic than a lot of other fans, I'll give you that.

I hope you're right as well.

But going off the last 2 performances, team selections and subs, then I don't see where the next win is coming from.

I suppose that's why we love football. It springs up a surprise when you least expect it!

That's definitely true. Whilst I was hopeful of beating Stoke, I really would have taken a draw. I felt we deserved at least a point at Hull too, they certainly didn't deserve the win. QPR deserved to beat us, but hopefully some astute motivational talk and effective lineup tweaks from Colin will mean we can sneak a draw at Millwall.

Aitor will let us beat Bristol City, surely? ;)
