5 matches left. should have had an offer to try and fill the ground .

We don't, you're wrong, we get these every season and many times each one.
I don't recall seeing any during the Strachan days?

We could look at other ways to incentivise a ticket deal. One idea is to have people sign up for a buy 4 get 5 tickets and then the Club can decide which games would count towards the 5 games, giving at least a months notice for each match. If people wish to take up the deal as an incentive then they get the deal as per the OP. If each game has nothing to do with us doing well/badly or the stature of the opposition/importance of the game, but the fans are getting a deal then we have a win/win situation.

Another idea is to sell 4 for 5 prior to the season and the purchases could attend 1 game every 2 months (based on Aug to May season). Perhaps categorise the games and the buyer can attend 1 CAT A, 2 CAT B and 2 CAT C games.

I do not believe the take up would be high on either of the ideas above as the fans may need to pay up front for games when we are not doing well or the opposition are not top of the table.

We haven't, we have had a big discrepancy in match to season tickets for well over a decade, which with one or two exceptions resulted in falling attendances.

We increased the gap last time we were in the PL. It has helped keep gates higher than the smaller gap before. If you'd prefer to return to the failure of a smaller gap and ticket offers, ok, but don't pretend it will fill more seats. You suggest we've had falling attendances for a decade, but average gates are 4k higher than they were 10 years ago.
There's not a vlub in the country with empty seats that tries nothing to fill them other than us.

We try to fill them too. It's just a long term strategy. Promotion is part of it of course; the other part is the message that the ST investment will be worth it. What you mean is, we don't try short term fixes like offers.

I don't think that is fair at all. I really do believe prices should be cheaper, a lot cheaper but that money was a matter of life and death to the people in Ukraine.
The argument for ticket price increases falls by the wayside when the club start giving gate money to charity.
It was a superb gesture by the way.

Not just offers, what about a points system that works?
Chelsea Cup tickets for example, what's the point in having loyalty points from say 8- 10 games this season if you then allow STH to buy tickets for people who haven't Been all season?

A discounted mini ticket for the last 5 games giving extra points towards what could be play off tickets might have made sense , filled otherwise empty seats and maybe thise buying might be tempted to buy a ST the following season?

I agree with you there jam69. I refer to my comments earlier in this thread. All of my mates who may go to 1-2 matches maximum in a season all got tickets for the Chelsea game from ST holder friends. This should be looked at and only the ST extra tickets should come into play after the priority points have had the chance to buy them. If there is one thing that the club should look at for ticketing it is to make sure anybody with reward points gets first dibs before people with no points.

How about a discounted mini ticket for the first 5 games of the season or for the 5 games across the October/November time period? This could also go towards play off tickets and it might tempt people to buy a half season ticket? How many people do you think would take this up?
We already know the answer. The shout for discounted tickets and increasing the attendance is not really the end game. It's about asking for a discount on tickets at the business end of the season and a chance to attend the playoffs/Wembley.

But only a chance to get play off tickets (semi) after STH and those with more points than them.
To just say that the club are getting it right and 90 odd other clubs are getting it wrong just seems silly to me.
Iam all for STH having incentives I just think its too far skewed against walk ups.
Just my opinion and iam sure there's plenty who agree with the clubs stance

Whilst season ticket holders should be rewarded for their loyalty my question is what initiatives are being used to attract/ tempt fans either back or indeed get new fans?

It appears to me not a lot.( to the best of my knowledge) So the sort of offers mentioned should/ could be driven as marketing initiatives. We appear to have a sizeable amount of mature supporters- we need to get the next gen enthused.

And with the season entering an exciting climax surely there couldn’t be a better time?

The same chance to get play off tickets and possibly Wembley after STH and those with more points than them if they bought the 4 for 5 at the start of the season or in Oct/Nov. No difference so why not have the 4 for 5 at the start of the season?

Why not both?

Why not both?
Good point. Whoever buys the 4 for 5 at the start of the season qualifies to purchase the 4 for 5 at the end of the season. So they get 10 games in for the season for the price of 12.
I think we might be onto something here. It then gives the buyers the chance to get potential play off tickets before those that have not got more than 12 games in 👍🏻

The half-Season Card marketed in time for Xmas every year gives non-season ticket holders the chance to jump on the bandwagon and they are eligible for the Early Bird price for a full SC the next season.

All SC prices have an 18-21 category with 50% price reduction and Under-18's with 75% price reduction

Whatever the club do people say they should be doing more :ROFLMAO:

Oddly enough i think in the premier league we did a ticket offer for back2back games against fulham and hull

Fixtures back that up

Never offered me the option of 18-21 tickets, my lad is a 19 year old student, when I have bought this season am I missing something? This is the big disparity when compared to other clubs, think he was charged a tenner at Forest and no more than £15-£20 at Barnsley, Birmingham and Derby as opposed to £31 in South Stand at Riverside.
They only do the 18-21 as a season ticket. They haven’t done it for cup games or walk ups for some reason. I know because my son has one.

Correct as great a gesture as it was the club can’t be that skint or was Gibson trying to make a point to Chelsea ?

Exactly. The Club has decided on a policy of putting nearly all discounts into the Season Card model E.g. a Season Card for an under 18 is 75% off the adult price of that area of the ground. 18-21 age is 50% off...this is amazing value really

I still think there needs to be a new equivalent of the Pride Card scheme for people who live away but go to a significant number of games, but not enough at home to justify buying a season ticket
