Not so much scoring as the game being remembered for that particular player, for me

Stephen Pears v Cardiff 5th November 1983, 1st Boro loanee, the holgate sung sign him on after the gane
Terry Cochrane v Norwich 14th October 1978, record signing, 1st home win of the season & my 18th birthday
Fabio v Huddersfield December 1997, who coukd forget his one & only game
Ravanelli v Liverpool August 1996, 1st Riverside hat trick
Hankin v Grimsby September 1982 sent off on his debut
Branca v Liverpool LCSF 2nd leg, scoring after 3 minutes what a start

How could I miss out Juninho, such an explosive debut too xx

Perhaps these were home debut's, but I seem to recall Andy Payton looking impressive on debut. Didn't Massimo score twice on debut? Uwe Fuch's pretty much hit the ground running with a goal.

Boksic away at Coventry was the other one I remember to go with most of those mentioned.

I suppose it does tend to be attacking players that stand out. The only defender I really remember thinking made an instant massive difference was Festa.

Good un Lefty👍
Andy Payton scored after 3 minutes v Bristol City
Yes Massimo scored both goals on his home debut

Festa I'm sure his debut Wednesday at home when yes he stood & we won 4-2 when Juninho destroyed them

Also Mogga debut away to Newcastle with Bobby Murdoch instructions to Man mark Keegan, Paul Ward also made his debut, Mogga must have done a good job, KK didn't score & the game ended 1-1

No mention of Uwe Fuchs on his debut yet?

lefty massimo was home debut. We drew 0-0 away to Southampton 1st game

Emerson's unofficial debut in the friendly v Inter Milan was pretty immense.

Also Michael Debeve v Arsenal in the FA Cup Semi Final was quality. Bizarrely the only game he ever played for us I think. An FA Cup Semi Final..!

I knew he was good, keeping the late, great Willie Maddren out of the England team, but with only one good leg is was awesome, 5 games he played for us &, what a transformation he was, very good signing by big Mal👍
Charlton was his 1st away game, Barnsley at home was his debut & I'm sure that was the game Barnsley wore our blue away shirts, we won 2-0

Ah thanks. The Charlton game was probably better remembered then for the debut of Alan Simonsen.
Think Simonsen could have signed for a bigger London team but he didn't want the media fuss, something along them lines
