40 years have passed...

I was at sixth form when he was murdered. I remember having the day off, I was stunned. It was really shocking. No idea how the rest of his life would have panned out- Who knows eh?

I was an apprentice, his records were on the radio all day in the workshops.

My Mam said she pulled the car over to the side of the road in shock when she heard it on the radio.

It was tragic, I was just settling into my first year at Uni.
I'm not sure we have missed much in the form of future music based on his solo offerings. That is in no way meant to imply his death didn't matter or wasn't tragic.
He had been an incredible talent and a man for good in the world.
His murder was an event that stopped the world.

Incredible - 40 years!!!!!
I was at Art College and heard the news on my Dad's car radio - he was dropping me off.

Although it didn't really affect me too much at the time, Looking back it was a huge loss.
