4 day working week benefits

Can't see us being happy only being able to go shopping, get a taxi or eat out four days week or indeed pay more as Amazon etc have to employ twice as many people. Would be great for me, but I'm not young or on zero hours!

These weekends will never catch on!

I am lucky (or unlucky) to have a job where I can blast in 4 days of long hours and finish for 3.

I much prefer doing 4 12hr days than 5-6 eight hour ones. Just gives me more time off.... Obviously 😂

I have mates in retail who work 6 day weeks only getting a random day off (could be a Tuesday). Then worse because shops basically never close they get hardly any time off over Xmas. Feck that!!!

I have a very small welfare role where I work.

Work to some is a place of safety, where they cannot be abused.

Some it's the only place where they have any interaction with others.

Again some have zero social lives away from work.

There are only so many antique shows people can watch in a day.

It's not all about £

It isn't

Workers reported feeling less stressed and at risk of burnout, and said their health and work-life balance had improved. They also reported having more time to spend with their families, do hobbies and complete household chores.

I am not sure that is a new discovery Bear. My current client doesn't care whether I work 2 hours a day or 20. He cares that I fulfill my work obligations.
Clowns are only funny in short bursts, so I can see where your “client” is coming from. Oh how we laugh.

Productivity in Britain increased significantly during the enforced 3 day working weeks in the 1970s. It did start to decline after a couple of months though.

16 hours for three of them. One's coming up to retirement and offloaded management stuff.
To be fair, I am absoloutly certain that health professsionals work their nuts off, from nurses to surgeons and everything in between. I bet nuses didn't miss the first 5 meetings on how to deal with a global pandemic.
