It's ruddy obvious this is the best formation to suit our players isn't it ?

Let's get back to basics and have defenders defending and attackers attacking.👍

Ok, I know Jones is suspended so play McGree or Watmore on the right side....
If Lenihan isn't fit then Clarke plays.

Also have a plan when you bring subs on, not a scattergun approach like Wilder's

If we're getting back to basics I'd prefer someone right footed on the right rather than McGree
 
Muniz would be far too isolated on his own up top with that midfield. Neither winger is a forward so won't support, midfielders aren't quick enough. If we had a genuine 10 then that could work. We don't so it has to be 442 if you want 4 at the back but I worry our midfield is too weak for that as well.

Basically, our midfield is rubbish so it's going to be difficult to pick a good side.

Our best bet is probably the formation we have been playing but just be better at it. 532 with Howson & Crooks behind McGree in the midfield. Defenders defend 1st. Bola isn't a CB so shouldn't be there. That can be Fry/Lenihan/Clarke. 2 of the 3 for the CB and LCB. Dijksteel can still support down the right and play it more like last season when Taylor played and was more defensive which allowed Dijksteel to get forward without leaving us too exposed. Giles doesn't have to get forward a lot and make runs into the box. Just stay wide and put crosses in like a LB would. Use the right hand side for our passing play and attack that way. 2 strikers in the box, Muniz & Forss/Akpom/Watmore/Hoppe and give them some chances.

The 5 at the back lark just isn't working....we can't even keep clean sheets....

That's the way we are playing, not the formation. 5 at the back means the FBs play as WBs but we have been playing as if the WBs are wingers and the R/LCBs are full backs which only leaves 1 CB when we lose the ball. Play it so 2 of the CBs are always defenders instead of both sides always bombing on and we have more cover. 2 CMs and 1 AM should provide more cover than the 3 playing as 1 CM and 2 AMs as well.
