36 years today I started my present job at ICI

That's a scary photo. Were you feeling unwell at the time?😋
No grumpy, still on cloud 9 after starting at ICI, after years of trying, at 25, almost 26 I was very lucky to finally succeed

Our dad would walk to Boro games from our house in West Lane with me & my younger brother, one day when I was 15 (1975) our dad said, "Dont wait for me tomorrow (night match) im on 2x10

About 10 past 7 on the evening of the game me & my younger brother were getting ready to walk to the ground when the door opened & our dad walked in, right lads are you ready, he got a flyer from work, i thought wow I want to work at ICI if they let you off early to go to Boro games & it just stuck with me trying to get into ICI, luckily 10 years later I did 😉👍👌🎉🎊

Nice story.

I started at ICI in 1967 in the labs ('Oxidation A') as a lab assistant where my 1st salary (ie pcm) was £33 something net, meaning in present money I was on about 20p an hour, 2 buses to get there from Ormesby too. Only stuck it a year.......
