Our ancestors didn't either

The day Middlesbrough FC walked out on to the Wembley turf in a cup final

I remember hiding my cup final ticket behind a picture frame attached to the wall in the hotel room I stayed in with my wife, we then went round London town for a few drinks & the next day of the game I was panicking when I couldnt get the ticket out from behind the picture frame, not the best idea😔

A match so bad we cant recall anything but that Dorigo free-kick. The sea of red and blue deserved a spectacle, it got a damp squib.

damp drizzle, pouring rain, hailstones, winds, then bright sunshine all in the first half. It was a rubbish match, from both sides but I remember the weather and I remember Pears taking a half step to his left just before the freekick and thinking....no don't do that!

Think BoroMart saying, damp, hailstones, winds, then bright sunshine all in the first half, sums up our special occasion perfectly

Probably like me every other Boro fan over a certain age will have been bursting with pride that a dream was now in fact reality & a let down in the end

My memory of that event is of the night before in London and walking the entire circuit around the stadium a good hour before kick off and seeing only Boro fan after Boro fan. It was like walking down Linthorpe road.
