eh? Non-dom is about residency for tax purposes not citizenship.India does not allow dual citizenship so it is hardly the same as non-dom status and she pays tax on UK earnings.
That's not true and why it is time limited.India does not allow dual citizenship so it is hardly the same as non-dom status and she pays tax on UK earnings.

And owning 3 properties hereThere's nothing that gets a Tory more indignant than having one of their own exposed over tax matters.
And here they all come, leaping to 'dishy Rishi's' defence and his wife who apparently has no intention of staying in the UK despite setting up home in 11 Downing Street.
Her Infy shares alone are worth 3.5 billion, that's pounds not ruppeesCost her 30k so she's gone to great lengths.
It's just pure greed really,:when a billion is still not enough you use loop holes to avoid contributing to the country you live in
I think the shares are worth "only" £680 million. She will be paying tax on the dividends in India. If the tax rate there is higher than the UK she won't have to pay any tax here. Her Infy shares alone are worth 3.5 billion, that's pounds not ruppees
You may be right about the amount, I got my valuation from her owning 0.98% and the value of Infosys at 350 billion. She may have got 600 Mllion in dividend perhaps.I think the shares are worth "only" £680 million. She will be paying tax on the dividends in India. To be fair the electorate seems to care little for truth these days so I'm not sure morality is high on the agenda either. A simmering dissatisfaction occasionally boiling over into outrage, wrongly aimed at "others", seems to be all that is left. These are the things that annoy me the most. People will say they aren't doing anything illegal and it is true but it is wholly immoral. The reason it is legal is because the people that make the law allow it to be. People that benefit from it being this way are happy to do what is immoral at the expense of the rest of us so they are never going to change the law. It's bonkers that these sort of loopholes are allowed to exist.
they're not going to be critical of Sunak's wife for doing something immoral,
I live in that constituency and there's loads of older people who love him and his smart suits and couldn't care about anything else. They probably also take a weird pride in the chancellor being their MPMore **** taking.
Whilst millions struggle to pay bills and eat, the wife of the chancellor avoids paying tax due to a loophole.
Wonder what his constituents think of that.
