As I said on another thread, we already had the moral high-ground before today's brilliant gesture. I'm fully behind a show of support for those suffering in Ukraine, but it is also a chance for us to reach the FA Cup semi final and to beat the current European and Club World Cup champions.
Once we kick off, 100% of the chanting should be in support of the Boro and Steve Gibson.
I, like others, have been openly critical of some of his decisions these past few years, but I honestly feel that he has got his mojo back and he's making all the right moves on and off the pitch. Today's announcement might be a good bit of incidental PR, but, more than that, it shows that for all its ills, football is still the people's game and it commands a huge place in the social fabric of communities across the country
