More or less 3rd downwards battling relegation - and for a play-off place!!

It’s often tight this league. Hence why I never understand people saying in October “we’ve no chance of play offs” etc. You can never fully write it off until about March and that’s assuming you’ve had a very bad first half of the season.

Sometimes you just know that you can be pretty safe in writing things off though. A team will show signs of being decent even in periods of bad form and give you some hope. Years of following Boro has given plenty of us practice in recognising midtable mediocrity
