2461 left for Chelsea

Some of the European attendances were a bit embarrassing. I do understand that in an era when so many have season tickets, as then and now, and in a part of the world where pennies can count, it’s not easy to shell out for one off matches. But you knew then a European run was probably a once in a generation thing, and these days, for us, so might a semi-final be. So give up a session on the beers and a takeaway and get yourselves down.
I think that is a bit of a revisionist perspective.

At the time I seem to think that it felt more like the start of a journey than the destination.

You need to factor in the sheer number of games we played back then.
It was a little insane with some long domestic cup runs thrown in.
Most fans don't have unlimited disposable income.
All the European games were live on terrestrial TV from memory.

I've thought that every Semi Final and Final Boro have ever been in since I started going in the early 90s could be our last so I better go and enjoy it.

It's the same again this Tuesday. You never know. It could be the last semi final we play in my lifetime. We dont know what's around the corner.

I think the games were a mix of ITV4 and Sky, over our European adventure. The Final in 2006 was ITV1.

The European away games were expensive because of flights and hotels.

We just failed to sell all our FAC Semi final tickets @ Villa Park (20,000ish) against WHU - that semi was in between the UEFA Cup semi finals - some fans were flying back from Romania on the Friday then at Villa Park on the Sunday.

ps - around 880 tickets left for Tuesday Night - should be a great atmosphere.

Looks like a sellout now. Yes, semi finals are rare. Enjoy them real rather than watch them on the box. (y)

Fair play to our fans.

Getting 2 'glamour' cup ties around the christmas period will have put a lot of stress and strain on some family bank accounts no doubt - So excellent for those who have managed it and if you haven't, dont beat yourself up over it!

Support the lads from home or the stadium (y)

It looks like the performance on Saturday has tempted a few that were maybe on the fence.
I feel like there's a bit more belief around the town now. Come on the Boro

Block 1 seats together have all gone, unless there is a Boro fan with a disability and carer.

About 490 single seats left in the Stadium and thats it, unless there is some corporate stuff available.

Looks like 31,000 (as predicted).

Certainly biggest crowd this season.

Will it not be higher? It feels like the segregation won't be as big as usual. We've gone right across to Block 54 and Block 55. With them packing 3000 in to that corner, it feels like the segregation must be trimmed down? I'm not even sure what the Riverside actually holds these days but there was up towards 33k for the Coventry game wasn't there.

I think capacity is now 32k - my guess is for Chelsea there will be a bit more segregation than against Coventry.

Being chelsea id expect big area of segration seating. Creeping above 31k is about right. Not as if the ladt 450 tickets are flying off

They'd have sold if they were together. It's because they are individual seats.

All singles is a bit crap, not sure how they can modify it or sort that but when i've bought off ticketmaster or other places before they don't let you buy tickets that leaves a single seat. Wonder if thats something, somehow, we could introduce.
