I was at this one in the Clive Road End for a change...
Cantona played for Leeds
There was a life before The Riverside yoos know 👍

We were brilliant that day, wonder how things might have been different if Lennie had kept us up that season?

I really liked Lennie as a manager, incredibly honest and responsible for some great days as a fan - this one, Wolves away, beating Man City in the cups (twice) and Man Utd league cup semi final. Seemed to go a little pear shaped after he couldn't persuade Robert Lee to come and then the defence went awol in January and February - we also beat Spurs and Arsenal at home that year and drew with Man Utd.

A great day.

We started that season really quite well but, in hindsight, the warning sign for a relegation struggle was there from the outset: playing well and only getting a point. Ispwich and QPR in those early weeks spring to mind.

I liked him too. He didn't deserve the sustained campaign of "Lawrence Out" that went on through his last season. It wasn't really his fault; there was boardroom tension that eventually saw SG take full control, with a more ambitious vision than CH's.

QPR away we led 3 times, Spurs away we were leading 2-0, both games we drew

Ipswich at home 2-2 with a minute to go & awarded a penalty, Bernie snatches the ball of Gary Parkinson & blasts the spot kick over the bar & straight in to the holgate

Yes, good manager for me, good times

Great memories, I loved the Lennie years.
Although as it turned out, Leeds were pretty crap that season. They didn't win away all season and were close to relegation.

Our PL debut was actually a 2-1 defeat away at Coventry.

Remember this so well. We were late arriving and could not get our usual spot on the Holgate so went into the South Stand. I thought it would be dull, but soon kicked off as there were a few Dirty Leeds in there.
Probably my favourite ever season. On the way to the last match at Wolves we stopped for a few drinks. An old guy in front of us fell over and cut his head. We picked him up and took him to his daughter’s place. She was very grateful, but also a little odd - she insisted on giving us a blessing for our good deed. After that, I knew we were up😀

LL's promotion season was probably my favourite season too.
Amazing finish to the league season: I think we won 3 matches in 6 days to clinch it.
Great cup runs too.

Wolves was an odd day all round: doubts as to whether the match would go ahead due to a fire the previous night. Molineux was a strange place at the time, with the new ground being built 50m or so away from the where the old ground had stood.

Sheffield Wednesday at home too; we conceded a horror goal, with Pearsy slipping on his rrrrs as he came out to take a routine through ball, and Mark Bright put it into an empty net. I recall us really being the better side that day, but only getting a 1-1 draw.

Yea meant home debut PL season v Man City, I was at the Coventry game

Morning coluka, well & truuly mate 👍
Morning Erimus74, Any win against Dirty Leeds brings me so much joy, more so than any other team on the planet, stemming from a number of reasons I have explained in the past. I am sure we will become great rivals in the hopefully near future, so long as Wilder is supported with the type of player he needs for his style of football.

The table makes grim reading right now, but hopefully the Spence and Tav money will be somewhat spent to bring in a top forward, LCB and CM to enable us to forge up the league.
