1984 film Thread

Yep, I watched it thinking was I over reacting when watching it & the answer is no

Oh god no! SO scary because it could happen! And I tell you, I wouldn't want to survive the blast and 'live' in a post nuke world that's for sure. Be better to get fried straight away methinks!

Thought the very same when I 1st watched it & again today
No way would I be putting up any barriers, or going underground to god knows what you return

Threads. THE scariest film ever made! I still have nightmares.

Yeah, it was and still is powerful stuff.

At the time it first came out, TV stations in the USA & Canada had to post a public warning before they could show it.

Yeah, and I remember the US one 'The Day After' being so timid. This was something else altogether. Gives me a chill every time I think about it. Those kids grunting, because there was no education!! Back to the Stone Age in a matter of moments!

I read a book by Alex Scarecrow I think his name called, Last Light, modern times, starts in new York on a normal Monday morning & in the space of only a few days, the world's oil supplies have been severed & at a horrifying pace things begin to unravel everywhere, I couldnt put it down, even though it upset me, then read the follow up called, After Light

The book was part of my O Level English Literature syllabus in 1983 😮
Yes, me too with J.C from shaky. Great book and film . Actually saw a stage version of it last year over here in NYC . It was from the UK , very well done.
