MESSAGE TO BEN HOUCHEN & TEES VALLEY COMBINED AUTHORITY AND A MESSAGE TO THE TEES VALLEY VOTERS BEFORE THE ELECTION. (please vote on Thursday).
Please see attached ‘without prejudice’ offers of settlement of our ‘Teesside Airport’ naming rights dispute, delivered by recorded post and by ‘hand’
today to the Tees Valley Combined Authority at Teesside Airport(photo in TVCA reception today). The dispute was never about money or Ben Houchen’s allegation that we were ‘holding Teesside to ransom’; it was about Ben Houchen’s decision unlawfully to mug me and my company Hook using social media to appropriate my legally held Teesside Airport Intellectual Property Assets Portfolio using foul means. It’s called principle. Stealing property of any kind is unlawful. Ben knew I was in the right when he first wrote to me as Mayor back in 2017(see ‘OFFICIAL’ email from Ben) and his lawyers knew that some form of payment had to be made to legitimise a deal. That’s why they needed me to sign up to their final insulting offer of £1.00p. I refused to sign anything.Whether Ben Houchen is elected or not tomorrow(and I sincerely hope not, not just because of our dispute, but because of his corrupt or inept decision to give away 90% of the Teesworks site(biggest industrial site in Europe)which belonged to our children to two business chums for £95).
Corruption or stupidity - neither are great qualities for an honest Tees Valley Mayor controlling a ‘reputable’ TVCA on OUR behalf.
Ben’s, “I’m a solicitor” modus operandi of suing people and wasting taxpayers money on litigation that can easily be resolved through discussion (exposed in recent days by Steve Gibson of Middlesbrough Football Club and Paul Booth) show reckless decisions that have cost us Tees Valley taxpayers many millions(check out TVCA v PD Ports).
The settlement payment I request in the attached letters is significantly less than taxpayers would have to fork out to expensive lawyers - like ‘Florian Traube’ of Pinsent Masons who gleefully told us he was charging £650 an hour in 2019.
The settlement would go in its entirety to our human rights organisation www.rightagainstmight.com, and difficult as it may be, I hope Ben Houchen and the TVCA are sensible and decent enough to swallow any misplaced pride, shake my hand and apologise.

Apparently Ben Houchen has just issued a statement in reponse to our settlement offer. He says that “as long as I’m Tees Valley Mayor I will never give a penny to Chris Joseph”. He’s put it in your hands. By all means vote for him again if you don’t mind him spending your money as if it was his own.
