Middlesbrough FC new manager odds

Depends on how we are doing under Leo if we are getting results then they might leave the new manager appointment until the WC break if we are getting schlonked then it could be in the next two weeks. I personally think even if Cooper gets sacked he might want a month out to see if he can better jobs, West Brom might become available as well, they have a better squad but we still have money to spend.

I think these betting markets are influenced by very small amounts, if someone sticks a wedge on anyone they will change dramatically.
Could be all amoke and daggers to protect the identity of the person we really want

For the first time since I have been supporting Boro, 45 years, I am totally underwhelmed by the thought of a new manager. I don’t see anyone who will move us forward, but will be look forward to being pleasantly surprised. The players have to take some responsibility for where we are but they won’t, Wilder therefore become the easy fall guy, yes he had faults but I’ve not seen anyone mentioned who enthuses me. Hopefully we’ll find an unknown who goes onto be the next big thing!

No you are not alone in that but according to the Times on line they are interviewing Edwards and O’Neill this week and “possibly one other” and will make a decision very quickly.
I realise this is probably the keyboard equivalent of a flounce but Gary O'Neil getting this would be Gibson spitting in our faces. Who was the Times journo as its behind the paywall

What was more underwhelming though? Another 10 games of this and being relegation faves by Christmas? Or us trying to do something about it?

I was all for giving Wilder a bit more time but the same excuses every week blaming the players individual mistakes wears thin. He has had ample time to coach these out of the team. I think it was BS.

None of us were cognisant with the atmosphere at the club but reading between the lines it was obviously not at all good and it was affecting the performances.

Whilst very disappointed with the way it has gone bad so quickly I am in agreement something had to be done. I am though also as underwhelmed by the names mentioned as replacement. That’s just the disappointment I think of seeing a man with a good manager pedigree fail after such a promising start.

35 names there and I could easily scratch off 20 who have zero chance of getting the job. Wonder how much has been thrown on Karanka, Woodgate or Robbie Fowler ffs

I agree with your sentiments. I am disappointed that another capable manager has failed at Boro.

I thought after being at the game on Saturday the end was nigh, mainly as the players didn’t seem to be willing or able to play the way he wanted to and he was blaming the players. Certainly there wasn’t a group pulling together and the management were too keen to blame rather than look for solutions.

I remain to be convinced that doing something will make a difference, but hope it does and we are not back here this time next year!

His most recent record was worse than Woodgate’s with us and he’s got a wandering eye that would make Steve McClaren blush!
Steve McClaren….wonder if it’s time for our most successful manager to come home? Perhaps Woodgate’s gained some more experience?

I really don’t think the manager name is that important if he (or she) can get a tune out of the squad at his disposal and that includes former academy and so called ‘development’ players.

Fowler appears on these lists every time. Must have mentioned in an interview somewhere that he's keen to manage in England, which I suppose is the natural step after an underwhelming stint with East Bengal Utd.
