Luke Daniels Signed

I imagine him and Lumley will have a bit of a battle as No1. It's Lumleys to lose but Daniels is a decent champo keeper (although hardly played last few years as Brentford have a top keeper).

I'm guessing Stojanović is off. I pure waste of 1mil (although hardly epic compered to other losses).

Yep, and from the little I've seen of him he doesn't look any worse/weaker than Bettenelli or Lumley (so far).
 
so we've got 2 championship reserve goalies, very worrying for such a key position

Lumley's only ever played 122 1st team games in 11 years and 55 of them in lower leagues in 8 loan spells. Daniels 15 year senior career is just a sketchy with 214 1st team games mostly at Scunthorpe

I'll call them Bettinelli 2 and Bettinelli 3

Give the lad a chance…. From what I saw of him yesterday, he’s far better than Bettinelli, caught things for a start !!
 
My mate who is a Brentford fan said this about Daniels:

Safe pair of hands, was always our no 2 but when called upon did well. Think he will be ok. Was crap much earlier in his career but those days are behind him. His contract expired with us and we have 4 keepers all around 20, so surplus to our needs. Played in all the cup games for us last year.

so let’s not crucify him just yet eh?

But yeah, I'll give him a chance, but a few times yesterday and a few times at York I wasn't overly impressed.
 
I’ll admit the keeper is the only thing I’m not happy with in our team. We know how key a keeper esp in this league can be.
 
Looking at Brentford Forum he was highly rated, the general consensus on there is he deserves 1st team football somewhere(that was from when he left them). Then when we where linked to him a week or so ago they where saying that he will soon be number 1 here as he is a lot better than Lumley(I was stalking the Brentford forums last night to see what they said about him leaving them, sad I know).

The club have signed former Brentford goalkeeper Luke Daniels on a two-year contract.​

Daniels was a promotion winner with Brentford last season before leaving the club during the summer.

He made 10 appearances for the club last term in the league and cups, and was named in the Carabao Cup Team of the Season after his role in helping the Bees reach the semi-finals of the competition.

In total, the 33-year-old old has made almost 300 career appearances since making his Premier League debut for West Brom back in 2013.

Having started as a youngster at Man United before joining the Baggies, Luke had several loan spells before spending two seasons with Scunthorpe, clocking up over 100 appearances, then moving on to Brentford in 2017.

Daniels follows Joe Lumley into the club as the second goalkeeping arrival of the summer and boss Neil Warnock said: "I've watched Luke for a few years now and I'm delighted to have him on board.

"I've always found him very consistent in what he does. He's a good keeper, a good lad, and he'll be a great addition to our squad."

I fancy Daniels will be pushing for a starting spot, rather than playing second fiddle.

On the Stojanović transfer fee, I'd be very surprised if it was anywhere close to £1m, plus his package will have been modest, so I dont think its the biggest waste of money we've been guilty of, although there's plenty of competition for that accolade to be fair!

It was a HUGE waste of money. Loaning Betenelli when we had a much better keeper already.
