The weekend beer and music thread

Evening all, hope we're all looking forward to the long weekend especially if its marked by signing the season off positively and heading into next season in a really positive frame of mind. Looks like something could be afoot with a new contract for Michael Carrick and everything seems to be such a good fit at the moment. Recruitment is vastly improved, we're playing some great football and there's a mood of optimism around the place. Had we not such injuries as we did, this season might well have gone on longer than tomorrow. Hey ho though, huge amount of things to be positive about looking forward to next season.

I was in one of the local bars the other night and tried some Maxim Mosaic which I'd never heard of before if I'm honest, never mind tasted. Was an interesting drink with some pretty random 'bubblegum' and citrus flavours but was palatable enough. I wouldn't rush out to get another but likewise, I wouldn't turn one down.

A tune to get us started is the fanatstic Alice In Chains...

I hope everyone has a lovely long weekend and it stays dry.

I haven't had a drink for a few weeks now but I will sample a Lord Marples later. I won't have too much, up and out in the morning for the FMTTM Coffee Club and then I am off to watch Stockton v Dunston in the play-off final. My youngest son is picking me up after lunch and then we are having a few beers in the club near his house in Stockton and then walk to the match. I'm looking forward to it.

I've also been decorating all week and listened to everything on Spotify but I forgot how good U2's Under a Blood Red Sky album was.

I went to see Nadine Shah last night. She was excellent. I was very happy to hear the drums at a far better volume than on the album. I look forward to seeing them again after a Summer of festival performances. This wasn't in the set but is one of my favourite tunes by her.

Very jealous. Love Nadine she's ace. Dates didn't quite work out this tour but next time!

Night in tonight before a weekend away. Big shout out for Round Corner brewery, one of the most consistently good ones I've been enjoying recently.

As for music, seeing this guy again on Sunday....

No alcohol for me again this week due to the codeine and oramorph. Looking forward to coffee club in the morning and then getting back to listen to this again, which is just out this week. Saw them do the exact same set at the City Hall when I was at uni.
