Parking eye cameras

It will be Labour Britain soon and all will be rosy in the garden, stop kidding yerself.
Norfolk ; what was your point here in these comments ?
It appears you have given up and thrown your arms in the air and are saying, we just get shafted by anyone and everyone so suck it up and get on with your life.

Which is, I believe an epidemic in England created by the Tories and turned the silent majority into cowards and let authority walk all over them with punitive and unjust measures at every turn in our daily UK (only) lives.

Hate these parking eyes cameras popping up everywhere.

Got done for parking near pets at home in coulby, going into pets at home then my daughter wanted a mcdonald's. Got fined for leaving the area and passed the fence to go to mcdonald's.

Now think I have been fined again, tesco petrol station near the bluebell. Parked up at the side of the shop to get money out. On way back to the car noticed only allowed to park in marked bays. I know its my fault, I have always parked on the side to quickly get cash out. These signs should be more clearer.
Has anyone else been fined recently for "illegal" parking at the bluebell petrol station?
We have a private car park for a small estate next to us and they recently installed one of these. When you park outside your own bay they snap you and a PCN arrives three weeks later. It is pretty mean in that it doesn’t affect the rights of the owners to park.

My wife waited outside while my daughter popped in to the shop that Pets at Home in Coulby, total time was four minutes, the invoice was sent because they weren't parked in a marked bay. I contested the case with Parking Group Ltd, but they almost immediately knocked it back, they then informed me that I should take this to an independent company, in this case POPLA. I'm currently waiting the outcome. Apparently this particular car park was targeted because the delivery drivers for McDonald's are parking their cars while waiting for orders. Sadly, this may reflect on the shops, such as Pers at Home.
Took my case up with POPLA, I was a little sceptical to say the least, but won the case.
An earlier post mentioned not even parking their car, according to Moneysavingexpert you are allowed 5 minutes in the car park, if you leave before this limit, it's classed as a 'non-stay', and you shouldn't be given an invoice. The Parking Eye which caught my wife only had 4 minutes between photo's, maybe this is how I won the case.
Regarding the political rant in a later post, it has taken the Tories 14 years to get the country in this mess, theoretically, it will take the Labour Party 14 years to get us back to how we were 2010 🤪

An elderly relative of mine got caught in Lidl car park - she did her shopping there then went for a coffee in Norton Village. She overstayed what is allowed by 15 mins and was fined.

Is this what we've come to???

I once stopped at Wolviston services to grab a McDonalds on my dinner break.
I drove round into the the Premier Inn car park to eat it. Had half hour break in the car listening to the radio before returning to work. Didn't even leave the car. there was loads of spaces.

Got a £100 fine (reduced to £50 within 28 days).

Tried contesting it with them but was getting nowhere. Just paid it to avoid the chew but was pretty p1ssed off

The ******* are trying to fine me for not registering for a car park at a hotel I was staying in. I’m trying to appeal it but suspect I’ll have to pay.
I've had this twice at the Days inn at killingworth lake on the M6 and also at the days inn at Wetherby. At the killingworth lake one i even watched her type in my Reg number and submit it. Both got cancelled after i complained to the hotel and submitted my reservation number to the parking companies appeals page. problem with that was it cost me about 15 quid in calls to the hotel as their number wasn't a normal rate number from a mobile.

they also posted the letter so it arrived the day after the "Reduced" rate.

Where do you cut it off though? If we say 20 minutes someone only 5 minutes over will complain they were only an extra 5 minutes over. Google says Lidl allows 1.5hours stay, which is a long time for a supermarket shop. I do think things like leaving a zone should be outlawed - unless you never went in that store to start with. A famous one in Stockton is Halfords / Matalan Carpark is separate to home bargains and people often get fined walking between them which is silly. But so do people parking at these and walking into town which is fair enough, especially when town has a big multi story anyway

I quite like the way Newcastle council ones work, you pay at arrival with an authorisation and check in, then check out before you go and correct amount is charged, means no surprises.

I've no issue with parking systems as long as they work right.

I often go to the post office and can't get parked because there is a school next door and all the parents fill the car park to the brim, that must impact the businesses there.

Likewise in Ingleby there was always free parking at the shops by Tesco but people were using the gym and parking there so now you have to enter reg in a shop, which is fair enough - those shops are paying for the facility their customers are struggling to use. Annoying for everyone now though but wouldn't have happened if wasn't being abused. If everyone does it or comes back late, people can't get parked.

I believe there is usually a grace period which gives time for reading signs and figuring it out

And I think the laws changed few years back covering people for typos in reg plate etc.

I tend to look on parkopedia in advance and if possible will book something in advance or even someone's driveway if convenient - done that plenty of times for a couple of quid

There is one nature park/cave walk in the Lake District where the timer begins when you enter the car park via a or but the machine asks how long you want to stay, people put in say 1-2 hours and machine prints a ticket but people presume it means from that moment on, but the timer by then might already be 15 minutes in - especially as only one in 3 machines are working and it's usually busy. Sometimes the machine cancels the transaction and gives a receipt too so you think you've paid but haven't. Stuff like that is just trying to trick people.

On Tripadvisor the nature reserve has a ton of 1* ratings as a result because fines are so common

You get a decent length of time in that car park. Perhaps there should be charges going up in increments rather than banging the full fine amount on straight away but she's had nearly a couple of hours to shop and have a coffee, not bad at all for me.

I used it twice in one day, a total of 30 minutes, and they sent me a photo of going in the first time and leaving the second time, cheeky feckers. I should have been allowed to invoice them for the time I spent appealling it.

If Labour wants to win a few votes then changing car parking legislation would be a big winner.

Done exactly the same. ParkingEye refused my appeal so I went directly to the hotel who cancelled it.

I’ve seen a lot of people complain about that car park, if you went in one way and out the other it wasn’t registering you as leaving at one point.
Parking in Norton in general always seem a contentious point.
