Yes 15 year old me amongst those on the pitch Very strange pitch invasion that one, sort of defiant that we'd gone down but would be back feelingI think it was common knowledge he was going to Liverpool whether we stayed up or not.
As you said, he stayed a season longer than the other 'jewels', Armstrong, Proctor & Johnston.
Not sure why that was.
After his last game of the season against Liverpool he was carried off the pitch on fans shoulders (Boro fans, not Liverpool )
No he really didn’t.I remember him getting collared trying to climb over the fence at the end of the West Brom cup game. With his wedge haircut he looked like every other Joey on the Holgate.

Cool, not in his Chintz all in one ,No he really didn’t.
Coolest bloke in the Boro by light years.

I've become a bit obsessed with finding out about him recently, after watching the vlog a youtuber had made, 'the stadium that bankrupted a football club'.Enjoyed that.
He is absolutely right about George Reynolds being a wrong-un. I had a bizarre impromptu meeting with him once and had several dealings with him when he was having a new private office/penthouse built in Shildon at his factory.
Definitely a character, who could be pretty nasty.
Yes. Last game of the season. The
The nil nil v Liverpool during midweek?
