City fans protest ticket prices

Posted a thread a few days ago with this mentioned. Prices are looking decidedly Premier League, despite the hundreds of millions they are turning over.

Takes the p*ss for all clubs doing this. Could easily adopt the Bundesliga model but this country is just full of greedy gets.

The fans in Germany are fighting foreign ownership. We're happily selling our culture to anyone with the money with fans wanting it for instant gratification. It gets success on the pitch when it works out, but there's a price to pay.

The noise around home ticket prices continues to increase as Chelsea Supporters’ Trust (CST) and groups at Manchester City have hit out at their own clubs for bumping up prices and squeezing concessions.

CST published a letter to the club after seeing a rise in the price of tickets, coach travel, replica shirts, programmes, food and drink in general admission areas, youth fixtures and women’s game ticket prices. The trust warned that the increases, coupled with a lack of engagement, could lead to "irreversible toxicity, almost irrespective of results on the pitch".

Speaking about the price increases at the Etihad, after a season of record revenue, chair of Manchester City Supporters' Club Kevin Parker said the move "will leave a bitter taste in the mouths of many."

Elsewhere, Brentford, Burnley and West Ham United have also announced that season ticket prices will be going up across all age and concession ranges for the 2024-25 season. These all follow on from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both announcing ticket price rises at the start of March.

It’s turning into a trend across the PL which we fear will spread to the EFL too as more clubs announce pricing plans for 2024/25. A summer of discontent ahead?

With this new Government backed appointment why don't they just make all clubs charge the same for a home ticket and same for away tickets. I do understand some grounds are better than others but this appointment is all about trying to level up football. Could work even with some clubs would be against it. Lets face it going to away matches we all feel like we are exploited at times for costs.
