How many points would we need from last 8 Games ?

To do the impossible ..
I know the chances are very Slim.
I was thinking if we won 6 from 8 ( massive ask ) it wouldn't be enough for top 6 ?

Anyone good at working this stuff out ???

Which we won't manage.

8 wins needed, which isn’t going to happen.

None bottom 3 won’t catch us

There are multiple ways of looking at this. We have 10 points from the last 4 gams. If we duplicate that twice that would give us 74 points and a decent chance of playoffs

A bare minimum of 18 which probably still won't be enough unless other results fall for us very well indeed.

A maximum return of 24 would have us not far off certain to qualify, unless other results are a freakish horror show.

Either way it's looking less likely if I'm honest.


Look at it this way as there's few combinations after such a big total from 8 games;

Anything less than 6 wins, 2 losses OR 5 wins, 3 draws, No losses; Up to 1-2% chance at best, ie Not a chance in hell.

The above; Around 8-10% chance

6 Wins, 1 draw, 1 Loss Probably 15-20% chance

6 wins, 2 draws 30-40% chance

7 wins, 1 loss 60-70% chance

7 wins, 1 draw 70-80% chance

8 wins 85-95% chance.

With the variation dependant on GD etc
