* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Blackburn Rovers [03/24] Match-Day thread *

I seem more pleased than everyone else.

Another professional performance where we had the better chances. A great start derailed by another injury.

I think in hindsight it should have been Silvera on for Forss. It would have been more of a straight swap. Despite missing the sitter at the end Silvera was good when he came on.

I think much the same as you.

My opinion only but McGree's body language today made it look as if he doesn't want to be here.

To my mind he thinks he's better than Championship level when he really isn't.
He was fist bumping at the fans when winning a corner early on.

I think he is less sure of his role at the minute. I think the hope was him and Azaz would interchange, but they just get in each others way.

He was. Him and McNair.
I thought he was a bit mixed today. The things he did well, he did do very well. I do recall him making a few pretty sloppy mistakes though that could well have ended up costly, but didn't. Overall good game but MOTM? Not seeing it personally

I'm pretty sure that Azaz was bought to replace McGree as we expect McGree to leave in the summer. Azaz was doing best as an attacking, left-side midfielder for Plymouth which is pretty much McGree's role for us. Then Rogers got hijacked so we have been trying him in the middle but we seem to have only succeeded in confusing him and McGree. The two of them keep trying to play in the same areas.

I really like Clarke. Proper defender in the mold of Ugo Ehiogu. No coincidence we've been getting clean sheets with him in the team.
I also like that he looks to move the play forward and is composed on the ball.
Only thing is I wouldn't fancy him playing in a high line. A nippy forward would have him on toast. Needs to be playing in a three or with a good covering defender.
Won the fans player of the year in the championship twice. Also won player of the year with Portsmouth twice in the lower leagues.

I think Clarke/McNair make a big difference because of their ability to clear crosses.

Clarke also had 3 decent heading positions in the opposition box.

But it also makes such a difference having cover in the wide positions. Engel did a lot of good things and bad things today, but he was pretty much never left 1 on 1 with either clarke or O'Brien covering.

What an absolute shocking comparison Clarke is more andrew davies than the great Ugo.
