Have the club let Carrick down?

There is a difference in that Clarke and Bellingham are regulars for Sunderland.

Rogers was not a regular for us. It took him almost 3 months to get a league goal and he was bought as a goal scorer.

Whittaker - 17 goals
Rogers - 2 goals

We also have no idea what Lazio offered for Whittaker. If their first bid was less that £10m, we would have rejected it too. The fact they never came back with a 2nd bid suggests they were just trying their luck with a cheeky one

Honestly as much as he's not my cup of tea I feel like we'd all be a lot happier if we had Kieffer Moore until the summer but we didn't seem willing to push for it.
He is absolutely what we needed. Opposition defenders must love coming to the Riverside at the minute, they get an easy afternoon.

It’s hard to say, we don’t know what he was “sold” when he joined.

If Gibson was totally honest with him from day one and said we couldn’t sign many top players permanently, and we would have to listen to offers for our top saleable assets, then he hasn’t really been let down, no.

But if on the other hand he was told we’d have top players coming through the door and no one good would be allowed to leave because we’re going all out for promotion, then yes, he was lied to.

He’s still the one who picks Glover ahead of Dieng, like.

no other club club sold an asset 6 months after buying them and transition means development so how does selling a key asset for that picture.

Did sunlun sell Clarke or Bellingham no so if they can keep assets we can.
No, transition means period of change. Change is not always developmental. Sunderland sold plenty of assets and their fans were going crazy.

The lad was going as soon as Villa showed interest. Do you seriously think Sunderland would be able to keep Clarke or Bellingham is a big prem club came in?

To top it off it was turning a big profit for 6 months work. Can’t bemoan anyone for wanting to play in the prem and the club make a tidy sum in the process. We have a bad run and this board is full of Boro retrospective exceptionalism.
