The UK economy is in recession - official

That should shut up the Sunak fan-boys for a day or so.

BBC News - GDP figures: UK entered recession in 2023, new figures show - BBC News
They've been fudging the figures for a long while.

Tbh I'm beginning to give up on this so called democracy we supposedly have, it seems the far left are as infiltrated with far right agitators I suppose that they ensure the Monarchist state far right rulers continuance. The way the BBC have and social media Novara Media behave shows it plainly.

So what will that mean for the rest of the day?
Will the rain stop so I can take the dog out without getting soaked?
Will my bathroom fitter turn up as planned
Will home bargains have any logs in this afternoon 😜

As I predicted when the interest rates started going up, this will stop spending and new investments thus leading to the country heading in to a recession, and guess what the first solution will be?

(For those of us without a degree in economics the answer will be cut interest rates in a hope to get the economy going again).

Can’t help but think this could have been avoided had the so called experts accepted that inflation was high due to never seen before increases in energy costs and a war in Europe and not because the British public were well off and were splurtting their money willy nilly on luxurious items and would have come down naturally to level whereby interest rates could have been managed much better.

But as I have said and pointed out to me, I am no expert so what did I know?

Selfish view imo.

Go on then genius, explain it….
When a recessionary phase sustains for a considerable length of time, it is known as a recession. A technical recession is when a country faces a back-to-back decline (for two consecutive quarters) in the GDP
GDP actually increased across the whole of 2023
Thanks 👍
