* The Unofficial “Official” Boro v Bristol City [Feb / 24] Match-Day Thread *

Azaz is absolutely sh** by the way. I can't see what he does? Slow, can't dribble, can't tackle, waste of time.

Normally I can see something in a player but not with him.
He obviously has some talent considering what he did on loan but so far he looks like a poor mans Matt Crooks, the same slow clumsyness without the goal scoring, strong tackling, danger in the box and work rate Crooks provided

Hey, guys. When attacking down the side of the penalty area with teammates waiting in the middle for a pass, try to pass it to one of them instead of directly to a defender's feet every single time.

The look of a side who thinks the season is over.

We look to be going through the motions. These lot played 120 mins and pens midweek. Wouldn't know it 😕

Playing him out of position is not helping him or us. Just because he’s left footed it doesn’t mean he’s suited to playing on the left.

4-2-3-1

O Brien and Barlaser CM
Hackney no10
Forss RF
Azaz LF
Greenwood Striker
Out of that lot, only Barlaser is playing in his best position imo. Dieng in goal, Forss up top, Howson and Hackney back together. If McGree isn’t fit then Azaz or O’Brien as the 10. Greenwood left.

We do have issues to deal with but we’re creating more for ourselves imo. It’s been going on for a few weeks.

That is terrible. Carrick giving Barlaser instructions after the first goal. Immediately runs back on and gives ball away, retrieves it, gives it to Hackney and he gives it straight back and it's 2 nil. Embarrassing
Maybe those were the instructions “get back on there and ensure we conceded again, make things a bit harder for us”

The midfield has been horrendous, Bristol pouncing on every misplaced pass.
It's all well and good selling players for decent fees, but there comes a point where you have to retain your talent and add quality to it in order to progress. Even with the injured players back, we are not a promotion chasing side and we need something to change next season if we are to have a go.

Hackney seems to be playing much deeper, almost between Barlaser & O'Brien though.
I think he's drifting in there. Because that's where he naturally plays and he's coming looking for it. Nothing coming forward from the two CMs.

He's definitely lining up in the no10 role. Closing down up the pitch etc
