South Stand Banners Today

What is their general consensus about though, what is the context?
I dont know, but I would take an educated guess at the treatment of York fans by Cleveland police at Hartlepool.

As football fans we should all be together regardless of the clubs we support, as we all experience problems and chew every season from the authorities.

Sounds a bit anti establishment for me, been to many away games without any chew, generally speaking, people going away looking for chew will find it.

The two main chants today

2. A song that referenced threw players who weren't in the squad, with the name of the manager substituted for that of his predecessor it was first used for.

Agree the early kickoff didn't help but how about just backing the lads on the pitch?

We also sang Sunderland fook it up everywhere they go (they certainly didnt today, we walked right into that one singing that)

I hate that chant (which references paddy,Crooks & Jones), i refuse to join in. Its from the Wilder era and should have stayed there. Crooks doesn't score belters and Jones isn't currently running down the right hand side!

The Leadbitter song who have we replaced him with? I noticed that was chanted today ... i don't like this we did it with Boateng and Friend and i'm sure they'll be one or two other examples and why do we feel the need to rezerect old songs ... make some new ones!

No one else has been here, there and every @##%'in where since Wilkinson

"on trend" FFS :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

.... and "RF's mantra" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

They're a bunch of wanabee pretend hard boys wearing Stone Island who think they're something special - pathetic
Cry more. If theyre nothing special then dont give them the time of day.

Hate to be that guy, but if you are a 'wannabe pretend hard boy' does that make you a hard boy?

Its a derby game, if you think that fans arnt going to chant about the opposition fans then im not sure how you have been brought up to support a team.

I do agree with that fans shouldnt chant about the opposition fans etc and focus on their own team, but obviously it depends on the situation.

I guess you mean the Oh Wilder/Carrick Said chant? Im with you in thinking a chant shouldnt be changed to stay relevant, but I guess you never said anything when all 4 stands were singing it v Chelsea, because for sure i was f**king belting it out as usual.

I can only give my opinion from the South, but the atmosphere today seemed on trend.
I've supported Boro for half a century and I don't hate Sunderland. Maybe that means I'm not a proper fan. But I'm really trying to say that it was a shame we didn't focus on supporting our team, because it can be the difference between winning and, well, drawing.

Agree with this. At times the ground seemed to go really quiet.

Also, I don’t get the **** Sky Sports chant. Sky have been brilliant for sport in general in Britain.
On 44 minutes I thought we were having a minutes silence for someone.

The Leadbitter song was sung for Forss.

Agree regarding The 'Carrick says' song. It just reminds me of Wilder too much whenever I hear it, and that's not a good thing.

The singing at the Riverside has been rank for years in terns of inventiveness
I don't know why....songs for individual players are poor
But the banners about police and chanting .about sky just makes .me think of the young ones....Vivian etc
**** the pigs
Down with sky and all facists.
F***ing yawn.......

Bring back the Holgate

Why are people expecting more from RF today? Supporting is not just about displays.

Im not even going to bother putting my point across to people who believe Sky Sports have made football better.

Well done RF voicing opinions. Nice to see people putting out their thoughts in public and not just on the internet. RIghtly so in my eyes too in regards to the police. Their treatment of York fans, and general football fans, is nothing but disgraceful.

The banners against Spirit of 37 need no comment.
It’s not just about displays but if you’re going to do one, make sure it’s well publicised and big enough to be read by anyone watching live and on TV. What’s the point if half the audience can’t read it and most of the other half don’t know what it means?

Gone from the inventiveness of Trophy Virgins banner to the rubbish that was there today. We need to concentrate on our team and spuring them on.
Chelsea was class! We were small time against Sunlun.. on the pitch and in the stands.

I do wish we could use some more imagination, ‘we hate Sunderland’ was getting a bit embarrassing to be honest. So many absurd things about that club and their insane fans and that’s all we could come up with
