Tory govt clears Tory mayor

Stable door. Horse. Bolted.
As planned.
Did they sell land for a £1 then.

Don’t forget a certain Mr Gibson is something to do with this. Is on the board at Teesworks or tvca.

Where there is government money there is fraud. Whether it be here or anywhere else. Will never change even with a Labour government as much as stammer promises

Steve Gibson is no longer involved with Teesworks or the TVCA. This deal was too dodgy in his eyes so he walked away. He was involved initially, though.

Completely pointless exercise.
Complete waste of time and more importantly more money.
Did anyone actually believe that they would come out and say corruption on a massive scale.
Not a chance, not yet anyway make take 30 years and a TV drama.
Don't forget "corruption" in tory land has a much higher bar than corruption in the real world.

Helping yourself to taxpayer money, giving yourself an unfair advantage through your government connections, finding and exploiting loopholes etc.

That's not corruption, that's just "working hard" and essentially being a tory.

That does not mean that fraud is acceptable or excusable.

Where it has been identified it must be pursued and prosecuted, the law is independent of government or politicians.

Don't worry everyone, when Labour get in they'll definitely bring in the NAO to investigate properly.

Well, that's what Turley and McDonald are saying on Twitter. Not sure I fully believe that will happen, as much as i'd like it to.

Oh, Ben is up for re-election in 12 weeks....you know what to do.

If he loses, whoever takes over should bury him politically by exposing everything he’s done wrong. They will have full access to all the evidence to do it.
Too many people taken in by his promises of jobs, hospitals, airports etc. I'm afraid he'll win again.

It’s certainly a possibility but I’m hoping the younger demographic turn up in record numbers for the coming elections. If they’re not motivated to stand up for themselves this time with talk of calling them up to fight a potential war, they never will be.

Hopefully the result from the mayoral election in May will relegate this inept Tory to the waste bin

I see the Greens have put forward a candidate who has worked (copper) and campaigned (Tees die-off) locally.

Both Labour and Green candidates have talked about being open and transparent, but beyond that not much (maybe improved transport links (no not a monorail)).

Ultimately the number one aim is to get Houchen out, the vote is going to be potentially split between Labour and Greens.

Would welcome a comment on this from anybody working in procurement.

NES is Dave Garside's company. Let's just say he's not a pleasant man and i'll let you Google him if you want all the gory details.

Shock horror he has long been associated with Chris Musgrave and once "accompanied" his wife to court when she was done for assaulting a traffic official.

Employees who complain about NES not complying with certain rules and regulations get taken to a quiet area and given a good kicking (so i've been told)
