By all means let the members choose their party's leader but let the public choose its Prime Minister.
81,000 voted for Truss !!! 58% of them ! Laughable....
The public did choose her - her constituents voted for her. As things stand you cannot vote for a Prime Minister unless you live in his/her constituency. Your vote is for your MP and his/her party.Don't see why a general election is not called if a governing party changes its leader. Every person who runs our country should be democratically elected by its people.
By all means let the members choose their party's leader but let the public choose its Prime Minister.
In fairness, there's a difference between not liking it and not understanding it.UK has a parliamentary system not a presidential system. We vote for individual MPs who form parties who elect a leader who becomes PM if he/she can command the confidence of the HoC. Why can't people understand this?
