We criticise Russia for condemning British people caught in the war to their death and yet we did this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-62083196

Or (a) read the article. The SAS were planting the 'dropped' guns.Kill them or be killed. Simple
The difference is we invaded their country and killed people on their own land, when you invade a country people are going to fight back, why are they the bad guys for doing what most people would do and defend themselves. I'm sure there are some complexities, but killing innocent people can never be right. To be honest the minute they release them, they pick the guns back up and join the fight trying to kill you again.
So fcuk if they killed them,
Taliban were very clever over there, as soon as they drop the guns they claim they're not soldiers but as soon as you leave them, they find the guns again shooting at you.
The soldiers knew that and at some point probably sick of seeing the same 'civilians' who literally dropped the guns. Probably thought fcuk this just kill them.
A man can only take so much, if your seeing the same Taliban man, with the same old bull sh't story, sooner or later you going to get rid of them,
B0ll0cks to all the PC nonsense
Kill them or be killed. Simple
Yep. This is why you just don't start wars in the first place.I cannot begin to understand the stresses that are put upon soldiers in a war zone. Particularly in "asymmetrical" wars (insurgents/terrorists v. regular troops) such Afghanistan and Iraq.
Even in conflicts like WW2 there were many cases of Allied troops (including British regiments) killing unarmed/surrendered soldiers. What we should not do is judge these people from our sofas. What should happen is that they face military courts and justice. We expect better than this but we cannot expect the combatants we have trained to kill to behave like boy scouts.

And how do you know they 'planted' the dropped guns? Taliban were renowned for dropping them, soon as British forces caught them with no weapons they had bruises from the guns which is a common thing, sometimes bullets on them and claimed they just found them, funnily enough the weapons were also just yards from where they found the soldiers. Then saying they were out walking, when in fact the place was lit up with gun fire 5 mins prior.Or (a) read the article. The SAS were planting the 'dropped' guns.
And (b) follow the ROE and stick to the Geneva Convention or don't play soldiers.
This (as described) is murder. Pure and simple. No excuses.

This wasn't people claiming to be 'out for a stroll' moments after a gunfight, though.I take it you have seen Saving Private Ryan, when they let the German soldier free ? Obviousy this is a movie but it does happen
Being the good guy doesn't always work, sometimes people need to realize what the Taliban were capable of over there.
Sick of it now where people always think they need to do the moral thing by letting terrorists free, because its 'the right thing to do'
Do you think any of those Taliban soldiers would have went home and told their mates not to join the war because the British soldiers were actually quite sound because they let them go? Like I say they have a proven history of being let go and picking the gun straight back up.

If you see the same bloke telling the same story, 'I got the bruises from holy beads (Ross Kemp in Afghanistan has this documented on camera if you haven't seen it), I was just out walking in the firing range, I found the bullets so I picked them up to hand over' while the same time your mates are being killed from the bull **** then your going to kill them, I know I would and I wouldn't think twice about doing it.
Id be thinking about my family back home rather than taking a risk and letting him go because of hearing the same story again
