Will never happen apparently, but we will always have our European allies backs in a fight. If only we could be part of something like a European army?

Yeah, it was tongue in cheek, I dread to think how the Russian war machine would fare against our troops as they dawdled a column of tanks etc through Ukraine, very questionable tactics indeed. It's a bit more complicated than that.
Here's a map of NATO's eastern flank. Russia wouldn't stand a chance in a direct conflict unless it went nuclear.

My goodness, that’s cheered me up.There is no way of a return to normal life after a full scale nuclear war, it would simply be the end of pretty much all organic life forms as we know it - and frankly even if you survived the initial attack the following aftermath would be too horrific to contemplate
It’s the truth thoughMy goodness, that’s cheered me up.
They know it won't happen .. They're not doing it to "scare" Boris or Biden as THEY know he won't do it either .. he's doing it to scare you and me so WE tell Boris and Biden to keep out of Ukraine
Cockroaches will be OK I suspect, there is nothing that will wipe them outThere is no way of a return to normal life after a full scale nuclear war, it would simply be the end of pretty much all organic life forms as we know it - and frankly even if you survived the initial attack the following aftermath would be too horrific to contemplate
I'd take bankruptcy over nuclear annihilation like!Chances of it happing? I'm tempted to get a Steve Buscemi in Armagedon style loan. Have a bit of fun knowing I won't pay it back.
I'll maybe pop down my local Audi dealer and get a brand new RS3 on PCP. Although I grant you I'll be proper fudged if nothing happens
They have a point, our side have escalated tensions even further when there wasn’t really any need to
Well, posturing or not, if nuclear weapons are fired we shall not br worrying about it because UK will be one of their first targets .
Russia wouldn't start a nuclear conflict. Nor would the UK, NATO or the US. They all operate on the same basis of MAD (Mutal Assured Destruction)
Russia ramps up its rhetoric when the invasion in the Ukraine slows down, stalls or is pushed back. Some of Putins own military has crept out of the woodwork and delicately stated its not going to plan. Putin sees Ukraine as a non entity, part of the old USSR. He's basically annoyed he doesnt control a puppet government there, like Belarus.
Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Estonia want a more westernised way of living which Putin doesnt want. For years Putin has played the waiting game of getting the west reliant on Russia under the premise we can do what we want as they need us. Annexing the Crimea was something of a warning shot but the world let it go. Now he's invaded Ukraine and woefully misjudged the situation as he thought the west would respond with the same nonchalance. Unfortunately, its backfired and woken the sleeping giants and where its really backfired is now they've become social pariahs. For 99% of Europe, the US and others around the world to say..no more...is a big thing. For China to effectively not back them, to monitor the situation and see how it pans out, is again a big thing. They're not there, on Russia's shoulder supporting. I suspect they're seeing how this was gonna pan out before deciding what to do with Taiwan.
Putin's reign will end the way most dictators does, eventually. He'll either be bumped off, parcelled quietly away when everyone turns against him or will fade with ill health.
You're very kind. Thanks! (I should add I am ex military and used to work in a nuclear bunker for 10 years lol)As none of us are privy to the highest level of info so much comes down to opinion - in my opinion you’ve summed up the situation spot on - great post
Not really .. Russia can still fly and sail into Kalingrad ... Besides, Russia crying foul when Lithuania is just acting within it's soveriegn right is a bit rich considering that Russia is blockading Ukraine and threatening to cut off the world grains supply ,..I'm not the most well informed on these things , but the blockade of kalingrad seems to be a big move?
