Sporar post

Without knowing how much we’d have to pay for him and what his wages are etc, I’d be open to having him here again next year.

Think he got about 8 goals? Obvs if Balogun and Connelly hadn’t signed he would have likely (almost certainly) got 10-14. It’s possible that he’d have had a better second half of the season having got used to the league etc and therefore got 15/16.

How many players have we seen have an average 1st season before going on to have a much better 2nd season especially having never played in England before. Thiago at Liverpool being the latest / most high profile example.

Of course I’d want to sign other (and better) strikers but having him and Watmore plus 2 better ones would be ideal. But even a better striker and one of a simliar standard to Sporar / Watmore wouldn’t be too bad. Assuming Coburn is loaned out.

Of course without knowing the finances involved it’s impossible to know whether he’d be worth it or not.

Not sure i would want him back if I am honest he was average to poor second half of the season and to me looks like all parties seem happy it’s over. Hopefully we sign 3 really good strikers, we certainly need them.

Mental post.

I think sporting put a buyout of like 7 Million he is also on 75k a week or something. He will go on loan to some European team maybe Spanish 2nd division

Yeah I’m certainly not bothered he’s leaving. Hopefully we get better. But if we were struggling to bring in better options and he was cheap, I’d be willing to give him a shot (certainly on loan again), hoping he’d have a better season having adapted to the league.

I've said the same. He wasn't the player we'd all hoped he'd be when he first came in but I do feel he was badly managed to an extent.

If Connolly and Balogun hadn't have come in and we'd stuck with the strikers we had I believe he'd have scored 13/14 league goals.

A classy touch. He could just as easily have not posted anything and got on with his career.
I wish him the best in his future endeavours, there is a quality player in there, just needs the right system for him.

I agree with some of the above posts.

Balogun and Connolly coming in was the worst thing to happen to Sporar, you'd have been looking at a decent goal return if he played right through. I'd have been quite annoyed if I were him, he was really looking the part at one point.

With the right players in and around him i'd have absolutely no issue with him coming back.

Wish him all the best shame he never built on from Blackpool really. But he is a good person wish him all the best for the future
Unfortunately after Blackpool Connolly came in and it became obvious quite quickly that Wilder didn’t see him as first choice anymore. I’m pretty sure he would have got a fair few more goals if he’d started the same amount of games as Connolly

I think you’ve overshot the wage estimate massively there. There’s really not a huge amount of money in Portuguese football compared to the prem. I’d be surprised if their best paid players are on half that.

He started 9 of the 17 games he was available for after we'd signed both Connolly and Balogun.

He only managed 1 goal from the spot in that time.

It was obvious we needed striker upgrades in the January window. Unfortunately we got the wrong ones!

I was optimistic after his first start and goal v Forest away, but never really built on that in a convincing way. You were always hoping things would turn for him but never really expected it to.

He

He started 7 of the 15 games he was available for after we'd signed both of them.

Fair play but that's 8 games he didn't start, and I bet in those 7 he did start - he was hooked after an hour. Thats a lot of game time lost.

I feel like balogun and connolly coming in "disrupted" him so to speak.

He was only hooked after an hour in 3 matches: Sheffield United, Huddersfield and Preston.

All matches we were turned over in.
