Still got and wear my read skill training top - the bottom is a little bit raggy, but the rest of it is still perfectly ok - so it has lasted brilliantly considering I bought it in Warwick Street shop (I think)Bring back 'Skill'
wasn't some commercial guy who used to work for the Boro associated with them and he left us to go and work direct for Errea. can't remember his name
Agree on the chest band. It doesn't have to be that restrictive either, it can be thinner, wider, around the back, not around the back etc to give a bit of variability. There are different grades of shirt. The match shirts that Errea produced for the First team were of a massively higher spec than the replica shirts sold in the club shops.
The Errea model was all about maximising profit from a limited market:
The Club prioritised in theUK, with design and supply flexibility.
Cheap shirts sold at full price only available from the club outlets.
Errea got UK foot in the market, Boro got maximum profit, Boro made virtually all the profit from the entire value chain and the shirts cost buttons.
The global clubs have different models, see Chelsea's guaranteed £60m per season deal with Nike.
If you are trying to be global you need global exposure and distribution. Boro aren't so will choose the way that makes them most profit, with a variety of contributory factors.
Adidas and Nike are not comfy bed fellows with 2022 Boro.
The biggest mistake by far is messing with the identity of the club.
The chest band provides this and should be defining, together with "Boro".
It was originally all the way around..a hoop, not a band.Agree on the chest band. It doesn't have to be that restrictive either, it can be thinner, wider, around the back, not around the back etc to give a bit of variability.
Exactly. Individual approach is all I ask for personally. Nobody wants kits that look like everybody else's just in different colours which is what we'd get if it were to continue to be Hummel or it be Adidas or Nike.Boro in Umbro would be a bit of a childhood dream come true. Loved their 90's kits and I do like what they do now, taking an individual approach to each club.
I think the modern Hummel kits have been great all in all, and I can't say I'm disappointed with the quality of the ones I have - they still do the job when used - but I think the writing has been on the wall since being unable to buy this season's home shirt for months. The green shirt felt like a bit of a missed opportunity too.

no the club knew early on they wouldnt be using them next season so stopped ordering in, plus the long delivery timeCovid supply issues?
100% agree, said that for years now .I think the chest band should be a mainstay. Its the only thing whats splits us from countless other teams in red.
No doubt it hasn't helped overall.Covid supply issues?
I'd have no issue if it was another season with Hummel, it just looks like everyone is getting ready for a do-over.Didn't we sign a 5 year deal with Hummel in 2018? So we've still got 22/23 season with them I'd presume?
Or give him his full name, Graham Fordy-OutGraham Fordy.
