Only in the same way I support a GP in China, or Russia. Or a World Cup in Qatar, or the Olympics in China etc,etc etc.Do you support a GP in Saudi Arabia ?
Which is?Only in the same way I support a GP in China, or Russia. Or a World Cup in Qatar, or the Olympics in China etc,etc etc.
Of course they all do by partaking in it. It's an endorsment of that brutal regime, an acceptance of Saudi into mainstream society.Do you support a GP in Saudi Arabia ?
Or it could be used as a weapon to enact change in the country.Of course they all do by partaking in it. It's an endorsment of that brutal regime, an acceptance of Saudi into mainstream society.
Personally that feels like an excuse rather than a genuine gesture. The way to enact change in the country is to not “play” with them In the first place.Or it could be used as a weapon to enact change in the country.
That's your opinion and it's fair enough Abel.Personally that feels like an excuse rather than a genuine gesture. The way to enact change in the country is to not “play” with them In the first place.
Change takes time. Remember how the British conducted themselves 200 years ago. The Saudis are changing at a rapid rate, but that does not meet with the MSM agenda.Personally that feels like an excuse rather than a genuine gesture. That may be so and yes it does take time to change but there is no getting away from the fact that they are still murdering people and supporting the Russian side in the conflict.Change takes time. Wouldn't it be hypocritical of us not to play with them. After all we have been selling them billions of pounds worth of arms in the last few years.Personally that feels like an excuse rather than a genuine gesture. Yes. It stinksWouldn't it be hypocritical of us not to play with them. After all we have been selling them billions of pounds worth of arms in the last few years.
I'll probably watch it. I'm not organising it or sponsoring it. I don't even pay for it as I'm piggybacking someone else's Sky Go code.Do you support a GP in Saudi Arabia ?
Freedom of choice and all that so no. Im not suggesting you'd anything of the kind - just interested in the thought processes involved.I'll probably watch it. I'm not organising it or sponsoring it. I don't even pay for it as I'm piggybacking someone else's Sky Go code.
If I usually buy something from one of the event's sponsors, should I stop?
I don't think too much about it. My main sport is inherently corrupt; right from the top all the way down.Freedom of choice and all that so no. Im not suggesting you'd anything of the kind - just interested in the thought processes involved.
Perhaps we should think about it more as the world slips further down the road to perdition. Or maybe it's not worth thinking about and just enjoy the limited time we have on this earth.I don't think too much about it. My main sport is inherently corrupt; right from the top all the way down.
I don't think we're necessarily on a road to absolute perdition. I would think you could argue we have relative perdition in lots of areas of life. Humans are fundamentally fallible and can sometimes do as much bad as they find possible. For every person arguing we should boycott certain people or countries, someone else will argue that they need to be encouraged to change rather than punish them for their actions.Perhaps we should think about it more as the world slips further down the road to perdition.
