He won’t play another game of professional football.
Not sure that will be true. If a drunk driving footballer can kill two young brothers and still get contracts after doing time think there’s every chance Greenwood will also.

I’m not sure it will be dropped, I imagine it will be deemed in the public interest to prosecute regardless of what she now decides. there would be hell on if this was swept under the carpet now.
I hope you're right, but I'm not sure. If she refuses to cooperate then, unfortunately, there are circumstances he could put forward which may make the chance of winning a case less certain. And I they're going to pursue this case against her wishes (if she states "I'm just happy to be away from him and want to leave that part of my life behind me") then they have to be certain they are going to win otherwise they risk distressing private details of her life being put into the public domain.

I think, at this time, it's more likely that he will continue to have a career in football than not, unfortunately. Unless she decides she wants this to go to court.

That's social media for you. She has put it into the public domain and all the consequences that go with it. Police have evidence to prosecute you would think

He is worth too much to one of the biggest football teams in the world. It will end up that she conned him into kinky role play and then bribed him

She said NO, Greenwood. She said NO
She said NO Greenwood. She said NO
She said NO Greenwood. She said NO
Oh Greenwood, She said NO

There would need to be more evidence to prosecute against her wishes. He could say "she liked roleplay and that's all this was" and without her giving any kind of statement that could leave enough reasonable doubt for a court case to fail. Or if she really wants this to go away, she could agree with him.

Shouldn't have to make this clear, but I don't think that seems to be the case based on what's been released. And I hope he does face justice for what he's done. I just think that he is seen as such a valuable asset to man utd and will be rich enough that they could very easily find a way for this to avoid reaching court.

Adam Johnson continued to play right up until he changed his plea. Mason's not finished yet.

Twitter can be so strange, lots of people are using anything to defend it such as it being from October, “it’s not even recent!”

What relevance that has I have no F***ing clue.
If it's from October then it happened in the past, and if we've learnt anything from these past few weeks it's that the police are not allowed to investigate incidents that happened in the past.

I think he’s done. We will see

I hope the police get involved it's vile.No woman should have to go through all that.He obviously needs help and can't get away with that kind of behaviour.Doesnt deserve to be in the position he is in and doubt any decent club would want to be associated with him.

He should be done, I fear he won’t be. To be honest I think the thing that would stop him coming back wouldn’t be the clubs, it would be whether or not he could handle the abuse from opposing fans.

Of course it makes it more difficult to secure a prosecution if she’s not onboard.

But there could be other evidence:

Statements from friends / family / neighbours / work colleagues etc,

Calls to the police by her / friends / family / neighbours etc.

Medical records.

Phone downloads.

CCTV at his / her / neighbouring properties

Etc etc

100% the police will be involved

Unfortunately abusers usually isolate people from others in order to hide what's going on. Especially with something like this, I wouldn't be surprised if noone knew what was going on.

I hope that this will lead to a long prison sentence and his career being over, but I just have a nasty feeling that they'll find a way to make this go away.

How comes SSN not reporting anything on this? Seems weird
It's only being reported by The Athletic as far as I can see.

Utd have issued a very short statement so any suggestions of a super injunction seem to be wide of the mark.

it'll be on the main news channels before sports news.. esp if MU have put out a statement - club / police are investigating, serious, allegations etc..
