Club Statement: Dave Challinor

Dave Challinor has this afternoon informed the Hartlepool United Board that he wants to leave and join Stockport County FC. This follows an approach by Stockport to the manager through his agent during the course of last week, which Hartlepool United were informed of on Friday.

That’s very disappointing. Hopefully Pools can get someone in who takes them onward and upward and he rues his decision to leave.
 
What’s going on behind the scenes? After everything Pools went through a few years ago, and then to get back in the EFL and appeared to be stable. It’s madness to throw all that away.
 
That's a big blow for them, they've done so well to get promoted and cement themselves this season.

I really hope his replacement can carry on the form.
 
He probably hasn't got enough money to retire, so people banging on about greed is nonsense. You do what's right for you and your family first and foremost, and at the level he's at it won't be contracts worth millions, and in the world of football managers every week could be your last in work. I don't think you can blame him if he's doubled his coin.
I'm loyal to my company but I'd sharp do one for double bubble.
