One Boro ITK claims Neil is off

No not really you need to do a bit more reading of the thread. They both eventually apologised to Diego which suggests to me that my comments were not over the top.
IF you and Erimus74 don't kiss and make up immediately then I WILL share ALL of the details about the filthy overseas movies that you requested from me with the ENTIRE board. Even that weird balloon fetish stuff. Be nice to one another lads. I have dirt on every single one of you that you wouldn't want me to make public.

Ref: Mogga

I would have kept him - he had done enough for me to prove he was a decent manager going through a bad spell. I accept I probably don't think like an average fan I think a bad spell can last at least 12 months. In Alex Ferguson's case it was 40 months. I tend to believe that teams that change their manager regularly under perform. I used to think shorter term. I must admit I relieved when Gary Monk went, he had a massive budget in Championship terms and massive compared with what we have now. 6 months was long enough in that example to see a problem.

Yeah i agree, also think him & Howson should've swapped roles!
Our best results always came when Howson, Sav & Morsy were in the same side, the added bite helped us massively....
What we're missing now, badly....
Agree with that, but I also think the team lacks shape and balance too. Far too often players don't look comfortable on their roles and we seem to be a team that's less than the sum of its parts.

Not according to the reports at the time, he said he had several offers BUT playing for Cook again swung the deal, i believe him!
Not for me, I fund it hard to believe he'd drop a level just to play for Cook - he'd have stayed at Wigan if that was the case.

I know he got a better contract though, which I think is more the reason why he dropped down

I don't think he does have a passion for the club.
R - I am bit surprised.

I have seen evidence he has passion, for example, I have never seen a manager come over to fans like he did at Fulham after just one game OK return from Covid, but his body language for more of a young man fan than a 73 year old manager/head coach

What evidence is there he has no passion for the Club?

I don't think people can question his passion for the club, yes question the results, performances etc, maybe he's the same whoever he manages, but he's certainly shows it at the Boro, IMHO anyway

I am pretty sure MFC wanted to sell Morsy and agreed a transfer fee with them. Then Ipswich offered Morsy more wages to go to Ipswich. What does that say about what we pay our recent signings? I guess it could have been a longer contract, but Morsey said it was more money. I don't blame the player if MFC were very keen to sell. Other posters thought MFC wanted Siliki more and had to raise the funds through selling Morsy.

What I don't understand is why have only 23 senior pros, besides trying to save money. Other clubs seem to have 25 and we have 23.

I don’t think he has passion for the club at all. Like I said earlier, he cares about his own legacy and when fans are chanting his name and he’s getting results, fantastic! If he was passionate about the club surely he would embrace his role in this transition period, bed in the new players, sell us the vision for the future. Instead he has done absolutely nothing but criticise any decision not directly made by him.

No evidence, just the impression I get.
I still see his passion for Sheff Utd, Cardiff and to some extent QPR, but I just don't see it for us during his interviews.

No doubt he enjoys interacting with fans but that doesn't mean he has passion for the club itself.

Thank you for reply it is appreciated.

Do you think we should have kept him for a long term project? or is the last say 20 matches the dominating criteria and at some clubs last 8 @ Watford.

I ask this because I am interested in how fans think and make judgements.
I think if anything Mogga was chased out by results.

Probably the same with all our managers tbh: with Monk there was definitely a bit of enmity behind the scenes as well and Southgate in retrospect Gibson probably pulled the trigger a bit early, but then again we were expecting to canter the Championship that season.

Monk apart, I’m not sure any Boro manager has ever lost their job for any reason other than results.

Warnock could have helped build the next big legacy and cement his place in our long term history. It’s clear we are trying to do something different behind the scenes with Warnock the steady hand while we build for the future. If he’d sold the vision, bedded in the new players, been positive about the recruitment and Scott I think most fans would respect that and give him time.

Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to care about Middlesbrough football club. He cares about Neil Warnock and his own personal legacy. So he’s critical about everything that he hasn’t personally brought to the club. I thought he was the right man to get us through the transition period but it now seems like he’s actively working against our plans.
Good post - for me, Warnock’s interested in instant results, which makes sense, he’s a quick promotion guy.

To be fair to him I think he's not that interested in anything that won't help us win tomorrow, which again to be fair fits his timeline with the club and what he thinks he was brought in to do. So a project player who might be good in three years has no use to him, he probably sees his job as getting us promoted as soon as possible.

He's a bit opposite to a Mowbray in that sense. Not a long term squad builder, never has been. It does come across as if he's actively working against our plans but I can see his perspective - if you've got 6 million quid, let me bring in a bunch of Yannick Bolasies who can make an impact right now - not that I agree with it.

Sorry but a lot of the comments saying he has no passion don't make sense , they are more posters illusions of what might be reality or posts just to wind up other posters.

People who lack passion for something don't care and show a lack of interest. They don't wake up at 5am in the morning working out team formations.

At his age and with his pensions etc he could have easily have not bothered and put his feet up in his Cornish retirement home, but he is bothered. He was a fan and is a fan of Sheff United, but he showed delight when we beat them.

5 am to work out formations. You’re just being sillly now. He has two formations he plays but tactically nothing changes it’s hoof the ball up the pitch as fast as possible. It would of taken 5 mins on the first day of preseason to work out those formations and tactics. If he’s up at 5am it’s to walk the dog not work out tactics.

I like Neil, I wanted him as manager since way back when strachan got the boot, but not every job works out he started well but now he’s failing like he did with leeds. It’s not working and and rather than write this season off completely I think it’s time for a change. He’s not here next year anyway.
